1. Cost
2. Speed
3. Ability to run dry
4. Less amp draw ( I can run all three pumps with the engine off and the stereo up)
5. I like having water drain out the side, nice visual aid
6. Less holes in the bottom of my boat
The down side is more wires and hoses. Some will say you will have priming issues but if you ensure the pumps are always below the water line they won't give you any problems.
It takes around 5 minutes to completely fill this system of 2150 pounds, which I don't completely fill he rear bags for wakeboarding. So essentially I should never wait on ballast to fill because it takes hat long for the rider to get his board on and rope up and get into the water.
