Hi - in an effort to slow down gas usage and hours on my boat I'm thinking of getting some kind of lake pump to fill my ballast system and well I could water the lawn with it too but mainly for filling the ballast bags off the dock instead of running the boat. Plus I figure some of these would probably be faster than the pumps in the boat. Anybody do this? or have a pump they would recommend?
Thanks man, didn't realize Ronix made cigarette outlet ones so fast. Not a bad option for quicker filling. Still trying to come up with something that fast thats stationary in the water by my dock that has a hose with a shutoff that I just quick connect and its powered by 110v or whatever...
yea MC recommends 1500 rpm's for max performance from the pumps. I just think it would be awesome to have a water pump all setup where I just grab the hose connected or run down my pier and turn it on...
Sorry if it seems confusing or unnecessary to you guys. Just something I recently was thinking about. Quicker, more efficient filling....
you do not have to run you boat motor, to run they pumps. they will run just fine without it running. but it will just be a hair slower because the pumps will be running on 12V instead of 14V. but your only talking a 15% reduction in speed. but if your sitting at a dock anyway speed probly isnt an issue anyway.
yea I guess i'll at least go with just not running the boat for now. Still really want to get a fast electric pump to make it quick too. Thanks guys. If I get one up and running I'll be sure to post the setup
