Hey everybody, I'm sure this could be a thread that could help some people out, including myself. What are some good, original ideas for gifts and dates on Valentines day? I'm trying to come up with things that can last a little longer than flowers and chocolate. My girl really likes incense sticks to burn and coffee, so I may try and get some stuff like that.

If you don't have someone that cleans your(her) home....that.... Set up someone to come into her house/apartment and clean once a week(every 2 weeks, whatever) for the next year.... Best gift you could ever give her...

I had to laugh about this very subject. My daughter was watching the morning news with me looking for school closings due to snow. While we were watching the news, a Walgreens ad came on advertising a Valentines personnal shopper. Follow the link - www.walgreens.com/valentines Now you can shop for her on your drive home from work. (Message edited by flackpack on February 11, 2010)

what the hell guys? I need ideas too, but how about some ideas for guys who aren't highrollers and don't want to spend over $100 on a gift. I called about the maid service...that was $530 for 6 months. Adam's link didn't have anything in San Antonio I can't afford to throw down $1000+ for those vacations.

Ben - Just do a one time maid service. If she is like most women she would really benefit from and enjoy that.

Ben, you live in San Antonio? Just go to home depot. There should be a large group hanging around the front. Ask them if there wives need any work.

I don't know.. I would hate something like that. I would much rather that money be used for a vacation, a concert, etc. A massage is a good idea, if she's into that sort of thing. I've, in the past, framed pictures for valentines day, given tickets to an event, bought a massage (probably his favorite).. What about a manicure/pedicure?

My husband is normally on a guys trip to Big Sur for camping and surfing this weekend and I can't remember the last time we celebrated V-day. This year we will be in Fresno with family and may give the 3-year old some candy. Romantic, eh? Yeah we are not so much the commercial holiday couple so no help there.

It is a marketing scam ben. I'll boycott it if you will. :P (I am going by Walgreens on the way home though. Just in case you bail.)
