What boat has the best wake? Why? If you answer this, tell us what other boats you have ridden behind so we can see what you are comparing it to.

Kinda depends on what type of wake you like. I have ridden behind SANTE's, X-Stars and all the Wakesetters. They each have things I like but I will stick with number one and two on Bryan's list (especially since I am number two on the list).

i will second what ryan said. i also forgot to mention daryl's 08 vlx, that wake would be so sick if we could get him to make the weight even and not all on one side.

Mine is my own boat, which is a 24SSV. This seems obviously bias, but I've ridden behind new and old style VLX/LSV Malibu's, X-45, X7, '05 X-Star and old style X-Star (current X1), new 210 hull, '05 Supra 21V, Sanger, Gekko Revo, and a few others I can't think of. I love my Supra (and my buddies 21v) because of the steep, abrupt wake. I'm not a fan of a wake with alot of transition. Wouldn't trade my boat for anything.

I have owned a few supras and while I agree that the 21V has a steep, abrupt wake, the 24SSV does not fit in that category IMO. I have owned that boat and it puts out a great wake with a long transition and a bit of a lip on the top... but it is far from a steep, abrupt wake. As far as the best wake? It's the one you get to ride behind. You might as well as what is the best color... or flavor of ice cream.

Dave, I didn't notice that much of a difference from my friends 21v to my 24SSV. The 21 (which belonged to chuck_j on here) was basically the primary wake boat I rode behind for like 3 years, and feel like my 24 is like a bigger version of the same wake. Transition generally throws my timing off, and my wake allows me the same approach I retained on the 21v wake. It could be my imagination, I don't know, but I love it. It might have something to do with the weight too, Trevor Hansen had this particular boat before me and it has his ballast bags which are ridiculous.

we all know there are going to be different answers... it's more like an opinion poll I guess. I don't know how to categorize "best" in any way except which do I have the most fun riding behind. 1. MB Widebody with 500 in the nose and stock 2. X-45 with additional in the rear and nose 3. Last Gen 210 / F23 Tomcat.

Although I have a VLX and love the hell out of the wake when the boat is sacked, in my opinion nothing tops the 210's wake.

This was intended to be an opinion pole. Obviously not to actually identify the best wake, just to get opinions on the ones you like to ride behind. There are some trends in opinions developing. I haven't even seen the SAN 230 mentioned yet.

Do a search by "subject line" and put "best wake" in for a search parameter an you'll get 9 pages by 15 threads of stuff to look over. In other words this has been done to death!

I do own a 230 and I love the wake. It's got a decent transition and still has a nice firm lip to give you that kick. It can also have a great surf wake with little effort as we have just begun playing with that. Here are a few pics. Pictures never give you a full story but neither do opinions. So this is the best I can do with the few pictures I could find. A couple wakeboarding pics from both sides... 75' out at 23mph: A couple surfing pics from the first attempt of setting it up at 10.5mph: (Message edited by lion90 on September 03, 2009)

shooter, your right? i think he's only running like 1800 in lead on the top of stock, lol seth your wake is MACKIN son!!! i cant explain it but i really like pre-06 wakesetter's, the wake is not quite as wide and they seem to be steeper with no loss in transition. obviously they have a narrower beam witch leads to this. great boats though.

1. MB widebody 2(a)07 Supra 22SSV 2(b) MB F23 Tomcat This is all completely subjective. The Tomcat had a bigger wake than the widebody, I just prefer the shape of the widebody. The supra wake is huge and gives a great boot, The MB cleans up at slower speeds. The unique thing about these 3 boats is, you don't have to do a damn thing to them. They are ready to go out of the box. That being said, the widebody pulls away from the pack if you put about 500 in the nose. Shameless plug, but the 07 22SSV I'm referring to is presently in the classifieds (it's not mine).

2009 230 is the best i have rode i think it has like 3500 lbs best in order i have rode... 1.SAN 230 about 3500 lbs 2.post 2003 Xstar w/flyhigh system 3.SAN 210 idk how much weight 4.205v/older xstar maybe 2600 lbs 5.Our Supra ssv launch now that my dad sacks it out! haha about 2800 lbs 6.Malibu wakesetter/vride 7.Various Tige models... all very similar pre-2003 when i rode them. IMO most boats can throw a sick wake especially v-drive flagship wake boats when weighted correctly... but i would say on top of all that the xstar and 230 are in a league of their own out of what i have rode and maybe the 210 but i only rode 2 sets on it along time ago
