I'm going to be going to the cable more and more this summer, so I want a board that will be better for cable than the 2004 J-star board I have. I would like to try out a flex board, most likely a 2008 response for cable, and was wondering how well they held up on rails. I was also looking at the 08 Pulse, and 08 Substance grind.

DO NOT go for the slingshot if you are going to be riding cable alot. My friends lasted for 3 weeks and my recoil lasted for a month. Go for a board with a grind base!

The clash would be a great board but i think the arcade by bill will smash that board anyday. Go for the bill!

Why would The Bill Smash The Clash Zach? Seems to me Nick Davies would know whats up, he is one of the best Cable Riders in the world.

I know that but notice in his new vids he only rides it when he hits sliders and not when hes doing air tricks, and my arcade is good for both. Also in my view, i think Ronix is smashing everyone else at the moment. (Message edited by wakeboardingzach on April 10, 2009)

I'm glad 13 year olds are making decisions for people on here. All of my crew rides SS's, and they have held up for the most part. Only 1 out of 5 have broken, and it was replaced within the week. nothing like a flat bottom on rails!

Yeah, Slingshot is one of the easiest to deal with, and they stand behind their product 100%. If you have any problems at all Kyle in the warranty department will take care of you. Every time we've broken anything at all, he's taken care of it, and we've had new stuff within the week.

What? The Clash is the same board as the Pulse and the 3ds that Nick has been riding for years, with a new enduro base and poly fins, so he has been doing Air Tricks on this same shape for years!!.

that's why we're not listening to 13 year olds about board choice. I can almost guarantee you that Nick Davies is not stopping and switching boards to do air tricks and then rails.

Yea, this Zach kid doesn't know what he is talking about. I have the Bill and It is slow and way too loose. I would go with the Clash for air tricks. I'm not sure how the poly fins will hold up though. I ride a Co. Recruit, and I really like flex. Haven't rode it on cable yet though.

Tom you could go for a Hyperlite Roam. Flex board, enduro base. You can find older ones for CHEAP or the new one is only around $250. Or 08 LF limited board, Watson, PS3(which I ride at the cable), Shane. They all have the grind base and are a much better board than the substance in my opinion. I hate the substance though. I'm going with an 09 Slingshot however when I can afford one. Flex, slider base, great customer service. Can't go wrong there.

I rode my recoil at Mccormicks and OWC often for 3 months and it was barely scratched. The rails at those places are so nice was part of the reason but honestly was in great shape. 2 days at OWC with my ibex = 3 months with Recoil. +1 for Zach having little to no clue

well it's going to be a birthday gift from my parents so maybe I can convince them to go with a reflex. I haven't heard good things about the roam off of kickers. So I don't really want one of those.

If my parents agree to the $400 to get a reflex there is no question what ill get. But I think they were aiming for more around $200.

I dont want it, I was just wondering because one of my friends was riding an 08 LTD the other day and it is holding up way better than my Bill. One of my other friends has an 09 S4 LTD and it seems to hold up really good too.

Gotcha, yeah its pretty tough it looks like it will hold up well. Do you know if your friend uses the cupped fins on the outside?

Don't be afraid to look for the 08 LF's with grind. They can be had cheap! I got my 138 Watson LTD (grind) for $229 shipped off the 'bay. I almost went with a shane for 200... this was in Dec. i'm sure they're still that price if not cheaper.
