OK so a family that i am good friends with is looking for a boat. they are looking for a v drive boat that will produce at least a decent slalom wake but will also be able to produce a larger wake for wake boarding at lower speeds. I guess my question is, what would be some options for them. I have been told the mastercraft x1 is a good hull for this but am looking for some other options too.

this one does the trick. Three tanks ballast. then empty them for a good slalom wake. For sale also.

Gerald has it. Also, lighter will give a better ski wake so Sparky has a good suggestion.

Find a Nautique 211 and your done....It is a V drive with a sweet single ski wake and wakeboard wake is pretty decent too. My two cents.

Good luck getting support for a Sanger in Missouri. What dealers are in your area? How many people do you expect in the boat at a time? Any budget? Check out the Malibu VTX.

You won't need much support for a Sanger, they rarely need anything. Mercruiser service centers all over the country if you need engine service...

Malibu Sunscape 21 LSV. I have this boat and it does skiing very well, as it is on the diamond hull. However, the wakeboarding wake is sick with the wedge. Load it down with 2500# +, and it only gets better. The diamond hull does it all very well. BTW, mine is for sale if they want a really nice used 07 at a good price.

Also check out the MB 220V or B52V (same boat) - I've seen some brand new ones below 40k But just about any boat mentioned on this thread is definitely worth a look. figure every manufacturer (with the exception of Epic) probably has a boat that could work for you.

nautique 211 has a class C ski turnament approved hull. Good luck trying to find another V drive that can say that. That should say a lot right there.

Logan, What you are looking for is why Wakecraft boats were invented. I would ask that you and your friends take a look at one.

The X14v has more hp and better crossover wakes than the sv211. It also has more storage room and less plastic. It is AWSA approved as well.

Anyone ride the X14V yet? Looks like a great crossover solution, but I'm not sure about that interior layout.
