biggest thing about tubes is the connection to the rope. O'Brien makes the best connection. oh, and the device to fill it too is just as important. they use something called a Boston valve. i would not buy any other brand unless they have those 2 features. i got a 3 person flat tube. big enuff to hang out on when chilling or good to pull 1, 2 or 3 "ladies"...

Congrats on your families new X-Star. Why people bash kids on the board for their family having a nice boat is beyond me? +1 on the O'brien tubes. Some family friends have one and it is solid. I pull kids behind my 210 all the times with it, works great.

I have a connely that has held up really well. after some beers/cocktails we usually do some "extreme tubing", basically see who can hold on the longest. And i got a foot pump that pumps on the down and up stroke, that thing is killer.

get 2 single slim tubes with same length ropes. i call it "tube wars". the goal is to get the other off of theirs with you still on yours using whatever means possible. and the driver gets a point for getting both off in the process...with a speed limit enforced of course. someone always gets hurt. its awesome.

We have the ION, we love it. it is a PITA when you want to be done tubing, so we have to anchor it to the shore and hope nobody steals. it. luckily we are the only ones on the lake with one like it. It is great for week long trips to powell. I have actually slept on it. Here is a link to a picture of us on it. You can go hella fast. (which is nice if you want to make the girls cry) We actually accidentally made my friends 12 year old son cry, because we ge *** going so fast and it wont tip over. This is a representation of the awesomeness. (Message edited by reconabe on April 05, 2009)

Obrien super screamer all the way. A girlfriend baught one for my boat like 7 years ago and the tube is still rockn'. They're fun behind the boat and big so two people are commfy on it plus it makes for a nice sun pad to lay on and tan. I've left it out in the sun so some of the neoprean pading is rotting but.. after 7 years who cares.

"girlfriend bought it," "girls love it." Awesome. Just come out and say it, they're fun for all. Tubes don't make you less of a wakeboarder.

Just get a tube, a real tube, from a tractor or big rig, tie a rope around it and gun it. That is tubing. If you lose all of your clothes by the end, it is a good run. If the girl does, great run.

sports stuff's new 'doables" look interesting lots of different tubes you can turn and spin and do other things... never tried one though like this one. http://sportsstuff.com/dyn_prod.php?p=SPT53-1965&k=142201 there are videos for each tube they have which is really cool. sometimes you wonder if the boat is turning to make it look like the tubes steer better than they really do, but the one in the link above shows a good video with the boat obviously going straight and the tube doing... a fairly good job of going from one side of the wake to the other they also have an interesting towing line with a float half way down the line to reduce rope drag and spray, seems like a pretty good idea, maybe excessive, but good idea. some girls might not like the spray... especially if they don't want to get their hair wet on any particular day and just go for a relaxing run

OHhh and how could we forget to mention Shapiro's Grindwater http://grindwater.com/ these are especially good/unique in that there is a special spot to put your i-pod to blast some tunes right there from the tube for a 'rockin' ride. or to just chill on the tube near the shore
