Whats up with the safety warnings on boards, and even bindings? My '08 recoil doesn't have one, I just noticed the '09s do. And every other board I've seen/owned has one of these warnings. I think of my boards as works of art. I don't want these things on my boards. Put them on kids boards, where it makes sense. You don't see these on skateboards and surfboards, and I can't look at my snowboard right now, but I don't believe there's one on there either. Great graphics are a nice bonus to a well performing wakeboard. I am curious to find out why we need these. I'm sure there are a lot of valid reasons, maybe some stores won't carry without? Do the board companies have to worry about lawsuits if someone is dumb enough to not consider they can get hurt getting pulled behind a boat (on anything?)? Thanks, Mike

"Do the board companies have to worry about lawsuits if someone is dumb enough to not consider they can get hurt getting pulled behind a boat (on anything?)?" Yes.. and sadly they get new lawsuits filed against them every day. Remember... no one is responsible for themselves these days.

The other day I saw a sign from some lawyer that said "Can you sue". Basically, it was saying think of anything that has happened in your life that could allow you take advantage of someone elses money. That is what is wrong with society. The biggest load of crap is that some of these cases make it through. My friend's house had a crack in the sidewalk in the front. A neighbor was walking at night and tripped on the crack. Keep in mind that this crack was fairly small. They received a letter in the mail a few months later that they were being sued. The case made it through court and they were sued for a decent amount of money.

The boards have warnings for the same reason that McDonald's coffee cups have warnings that there is a hot liquid inside. I think that when McDonalds lost that case, the American legal system took one giant step backwards. Personal responsibility no longer exists.

This is where Dave should enter a warning that addictive forums have been known to cause carpal tunnel syndrome, lack of sleep, and job loss due to non productivity to keep WW safe.

I was being sued for stealing house plans and they wanted 450,000.00 for one plan. I told them I didn't, they served me papers anyway and it turns out they got the wrong home, it was my neighbors that stole the plans. BTW the house I was living in I sold for 225,000.00 and plans typically cost 700-1000 per plan. Criminal. Pretty soon we will have to have warning labels tatted on us.

Just be glad that the warning label isn't on the top part of the board.

Patrick, You would likely then have a class action lawsuit on your hands as all of us wakeworlders would be sueing for emotional damages from the withdrawals we would all have.

Just be glad that the warning label isn't on the top part of the board. Doesn't Nautique have warning labels on the dash and near the throttle?

This was on several billboards near one of the hospitals in Orlando: www.whocanIsue.com Pretty pathetic
