What is the best thing to use to get the green stuff off from the bottom of the boat?

I buy hull cleaner from acadamy sports. It is some sort of acid (burns your hands) but it is just a wipe on and hose off easy.

aneal000 - are you nuts? You happened to stumble upon an off the shelf solution (OK 2) that work great, and now you want $10 to share your secret... I see some bad boating juju coming your way. Bad karma and boating do not mix well.

The toilet bowl cleaner is something that is very popular every year on the MC website.
Looks like Tony's scheme works pretty well. Three hours after he posted this, the auction was sold.

For years I've used Starbrite Hull Cleaner from West Marine. Spray it on, hose it off, it's easy.

This year I spent some time waxing the (new to me) boat early last spring. This fall our lake has warning signs all around it about the algae growing in the water. But when I pulled the boat out of the lake after it was in the water for over 2 months, I had almost no scum line. And what little there is, I hosed it off with the garden hose.
