This company looks like they could be on to something.

"Axis offers low cost to the customer without compromising quality." - I am assuming it will still be in the high 30k range.

These could be interesting. I wonder how these will look sitting between a Moomba and a V ride?

To me this is like the current Supra/Moomba relationship. I know I would be worried if I was Skier's Choice. I have a Moomba Mobius, and the 'main' reason I chose them was their affordable price. It was either a new Moomba or an older, put through the ringer, top-tier brand. I know there are gems to be found on the used market...but they are exactly that, rare gems.

I love my Moomba, it has introduced at least 50 people to the sport of wakeboarding and provided me with 4 summers now of wakeboarding pleasure...and it does everything I ask of it.

BUT...if I could have the same less-expensive boat buying experience coming from the parent company Malibu...I think I would have drifted that way initially as I was looking to buy. It still depends on price though...and what they 'cut' out to reach that price point.

We need more boat manufactures that are willing to step into this price range we would see a huge increase in popularity in our sport. I mean how many people can acutually afford a 70k wakeboard boat. Im locky enough that my parents can afford one but if not I would be SOL or riding behind a ski or fishing boat

I remember a few months ago I posted a thread about how I was unhappy with the options of entry level wakeboats for people in my salary range and I got dumped all over by several fellow WWers for various reasons. I made the comment that it didn't make sense that car manufacturers can make affordable cars but boat companys had to stay in the exotic car price arena.

If the boats look alright, have good wake potential (with extra bags), PP or Zero-off, and are under $30K or $35K these things will sell like hotcakes.

Good Luck Axis...I like where your heads at ;)

This sounds like a great idea. I love my SN2001 but could really use the extra room of an open bow. This sounds like the perfect upgrade, otherwise I would be considering the malibu v-ride or a moomba.

I completely agree w/ Loren, a much better option than having to find that gem of a boat that while put thru the ringer enough to be in my price range, is not completely beat up. I remember a couple years ago when MC introduced the X1 and marketed it at starting under $39,995 with tower. Now they are starting closer towards 50k. Good luck.

This is GREAT! ...not all of us are fortunate enough to have our parents kick down a boat. I would be in 100% with a brand new 30K boat that puts up an 80k wake. Strip the boat of anything fancy/expensive, give me PP, maybe a couple stock sacs and the possibility to loop in my own sacs and I'd be set!
Malibu DBA: Axis, good stuff!

They will do very well with another crowd that no one seems to think of much. Those who have plenty of disposable income but aren't interested in having that much money tied up in an extremely luxurious and unnecessary asset. Now hear me out.

The average person who can afford to partake in wakeboarding has above average wealth. They either earned this by being smart, or by being lucky. If it was luck, congratulations. If it was smarts, they might realize that a new wakeboard boat is fairly tough to justify. Consider those who live someplace where the boat sits in storage for 6 or 8 months, and suddenly you have many households who simply won't touch a 70-100K wakeboard boat. They can pick the same boat up on the used market for 2/3 of the price. Those people likely will consider Axis, getting the new boat and quality with less expense.

There's some on here that can afford new boats every year or so and they get them. Those won't probably look at Axis. But with the current financial situation, more and more families will be interested in saving some pennies before they are forced to.
