I noticed some of the color on my navy blue boat has started to fade. It is about 8 years old.
It isn't too bad. I pretty much only notice it when I am washing my boat.

It is stored in-doors all winter and outside all summer. I wax and wash the boat regularly.

If I get a new boat and keep up the same routine, will it fade just the same?

I was thinking that getting a white boat would solve the problem, but white is pretty boring.

Any other suggestions?

Do you have a cover that covers the entire top deck in the summer? That will get more of it out of the sun and help. People on here will be able to help you out with tips on bringing that color back... Good luck

Meguires color restorer- apply and buff out. Should do the job. If its oxidized, use compound remover or an oxidation remover then go back over it with the color restorer.

Red, then Black fade the worst. The gel coat is really thick and you should be able to get the blue back to original by removing the oxidezed layer.

We use the 3M Finesse-it and Compound for gel-coat. Stuff is awesome. That blue should come right back.

Yep, we use Turbo Cut and then Swirl Free Polish to get the color back. If you have any scratches wet sand them out before buffing.
