2010 New X-star?

I have been thinking of trading my 06' but someone told me that there will be a new xstar hull in 2010. Any details? I would love to know if there is any news.

Mike, I also heard that there will be a new X-star in '10.

I hear it's a full tri hull.

I got news for everyone, just because someone comes out with a new hull does not mean it will be a better one. We all would like to think because it is the latest and greatest it must be better then the ones before it. Sometimes that is not the case. We are always trying to come out with better designs and build on what we have, unfortunetely sometimes we build a great product and we can only improve on small details because if we change seomthing foundational to it, we can ruin the greatness it once had.

ya like how nautiqe screwed up the hulls when then changed them in 07.

I heard that they are going to be keeping the hull but changing the top deck and interior. (shorting up the sundeck and making more interior space)

Hopefully they dont change the hull. That will be a sad day.

New Xstar means old xstar is now x2. x2 is now x1. x1 which was previously the xstar and then the x2 is now x0.

It would make sense for them to change the interior design. If you compare the Xstar to the X2, it's interesting that the X2 has as much or more interior cockpit room. The x2 just has a smaller sun deck and smaller bow, so more room in the cockpit. It would be cool if they made the xstar bow smaller and made more room in the cockpit in my opinion.

I would not be worried at all if MC decided to totally re-do the X-Star hull. I remember when everyone was freaking out before the new X-star came out in 2002. Saying how could they change one of the best wakes? Whatever MC comes out with I am sure will be great as they do plenty of research before introducing it. I know they were looking at diesel options for a few years before they came out with them.

Yea I 2nd Matt......My family has owned Mastercrafts Since 85 (yea the stars and stripes) and has has nothing but good luck and would not buy another brand. I put 300 hours on my 01 X-star in the last 2 years and had no problems at all with it, and its always over sacked. I would check with your dealer, i have heard of other boats (malibus and Nauti's) from friends having the same or worse types of problems....so its not really just Mastercrafts guys.

I 3rd that Matt. The reason for the Xstars long sun deck wasn't an accident. Its because the engine displacement pumped out a bigger wake. If you look at the engine in an X2 its butted up against the back of the boat. If you look at the Xstar its pushed forward a bit. I would imagine them possibly changing that for more interior space. But who knows.

A-dub Im not sure it was they were just informing me and telling me that it will be pretty sick, and I'm not sure what we are doing. I think in october we are gonna take a look at the epic factory and when i get time I'll shoot over to my nearest dealer and have a look at the Bu's. Who knows, we may keep the lemon, Im just happy to have a wakeboard boat period so I dont really care.

TK, thanks for pointing out the obvious about the bottom (hull) of the boat. I'm not sure where that even came from since I was purely talking about the interior.

Oh, and how do you like those trim tabs on the new Mastercrafts? Makes that boat ride reeeeaaaalll nice huh? ;)

The new x-star was totally redesigned. It actually has no wake or hull!
It is a hovercraft that tows huge 10 ft tall floating kickers aka X-Ramps!
I am not sure if it has a crapper or not.

@mn">D@mn people sure love to hate on mastercraft. I wonder why that is. You dont see people taking stabs this much at tige or malibu. Like the Maliview? Um basically a redesigned MC Vdig. And Tige going to the pickle fork bow. I just dont get why you all hate. This is like the 4th thread in two weeks where everyones got jokes on MC. Is it jealousy or what I just dont get it. I gotta give Nautique props though. Atleast there doing there own thing like MC and not taking other companies ideas and trying to revolutionize them. Example= Vdig to Malibu's Maliview or Xstar pickle fork being copied to tige. You guys should all go form a colt against MC hahahaha.

Brett, you shouldn't release that photo. The rest of the inboard market might start copying the 2010 Xstar prototype.
