Ever since I bought my first board two and half years ago, I've always pondered this:

What, really, is the difference between guys and girls boards, other than graphics and sizes available?

I ride the LF Team board 130 (I LOVE the shape), which is actually the same exact shape as the LF Angel. I ride the guy version, because well, I'm a female anomaly who prefers the colors red and gray over blue, pink, and white.

I'm just wondering, are there any differences other than the obvious?

Also, is it true when they say a board is designed specifically for women? Like last year when Obrien debuted the Skyla (Dallas' board)they wrote it was designed "for women in mind"- yet they added the Obrien Coda this year which looks like the same board with different graphics?

All of a sudden the commercial for Secret (the deodorant) popped in my head. "Strong enough for a man, but PH balanced for a women"

Hmmm....I don't know, what are your thoughts?

A lot of the boards companies would use the identical shape but give the board a softer flex pattern that was more forgiving. Recently companies realize that women want to shred like everyone else and have been making them more aggressive. But yes they are mostly just rehashed pro models. Full Tilt was the first girl designed board back in the day with Andrea Gaytan's board, and it actually was unique in their line. I think the Ronix Emily board is unique.

im almost positive LF doesnt soften the flex on the womens boards. So yeah it should be the same exact board but someone on here may know better.

i think the same way shapes get passed down the line, shapes from previous years get passed to girls models. besides this they are prob made in smaller sizes and obviously graphics.

goride, lf and hype use softer flex patterns for their girl boards.

The Ronix Coy is the only available women specific board that doesnt have a guy model.

The LF Melissa board was actually designed by melissa and then became the guys currrent trip. usually its the other way around. i think she also designed her new boots and then the guys got the vantages.

The O'Brien Skyla was designed for Dallas Friday. The Coda is the guys version of her board!

So I guess I am now riding a girls board, oh well, it kicks butt!
