Company Wake - Justin Stephens

So I was looking at the company wake blog http://companywake.com/yo/ and I noticed that the person writing all the posts is Justin Stephens and I was wondering if this is the same Justin Stephens that makes all the videos like The Truth and all that stuff. If anyone knows anything about this or has any new info on it please pass it along.

Yeah, I think my sources told me that they're pretty sure that they heard that it might be him.

But what you can bet your ass on is the possibility of this thread turning into awesome. Just watch. Someone, somewhere, is gonna get pissed that Company Wake isn't paying to advertise, and then someone else will point out the fact that that person's company doesn't either. Massive backpeddling will ensue, and maybe later someone will point out the fact that the original poster has nothing to do with the company and is merely curious as to who's in charge.

Did Watson sign Joe? Last time we talked about it, he hadn't signed either. That is awesome!! I think when people bring new blood to the industry it is a great thing!

he's technically with lf still. i think his contract expires at the end of the season.

I know there has been alot of discussion over the way that they have created the buzz, but it is sounding like some of the right people are involved. The prototype pictures (what little you can see) looks like they are trying to bring something new or at least some innovative ideas to the market.

I was thinking that Shawn Watson may be one of the field testers that the website keeps talking about but I was not sure. If he is involved then I am curious/excited to see what they come up with because I have loved Watson's other boards that he has helped with.

i am pretty sure tino is a field tester as well. he lives with watson and he just got dropped by lf. i talked to watson a few weeks ago and he was real quiet on his stance with lf and he was saying the same thing about tino. so im sure they will be two riders for company wake

I'm really surprised that Watson would be a part of this. It just seems weird for him to cut ties with LF after so many years with them.

These pros are trying to secure their future by getting a piece of the pie like the Ronix boys. The pros that you and I grew up with can only stay in the top 10 for so long until youngsters like Brian Hutton come out of no where and start outriding them. What then? Look at Shapiro..... doesn't even have a pro model on the shelf anymore.

business and pleasure don't always mix so well. starting board co's is only going to re-shape the way the market is split up...growth is slow and with a •••••• economy its not likely to change. as it turns out...if wakeboarding doesn't pay the bills, there is always rapping.

Jason I think that Watson is pretty close with Justin Stephens so it makes sense to me that he would be one of the riders. He has always had really good sections in justin's movies.

are you looking at the pics in the entry for the 7th of may?

if so you are thinking the same as me... but on second look and considering all the talk of fin placement in the blog and pics of fins. I believe those are fin holes. multiple holes for trying different placements... i could be wrong. But why would there be two bolts with no bindings on top ( another thing i noticed)?

speaking of bindings... i am only guessing they are working on bindings too, but so far no mention of boots as i have seen?

But i do hope they go 4-hole. I am a firm believer of the 4 hole mount system and hope all board companies switch in the future

If it is true that watson is going to be a rider than it will finally put the argument against "flex boards" to rest that, "you don't see any top pro riders riding flex boards for wake riding"

Watson just signed with LF a few days ago so that rumor is ghost. Tino will be repping the new brand though.

who cares what people on an internet chat forum are speculating about? if I said that Rusty was going to be riding for Company wake, is everyone going to automatically believe me? rumors are just that, rumors. I dont see why anyone should be getting on Joe's case for saying that. it is not like he is the only one speculating about this company.

looks and sounds like a slingshot recoil. the materials specs sounds the same too, except for the carbon thing for a "not so soft flex"
I bet it will be more expensive for the carbon sheeted ones.

glad to know there is another company doing the 4 hole pattern thing.

Go slingshot and Company wake for sticking it to the man ("man" = single row traditional inserts)!!!

I see a day when 4 hole inserts reaches the status of CT boots, meaning that every company will have options BOTH ways.
