alright heres the deal me and my buddy are just getting into wake surfing, his family just purchased a 04 x2 and we are looking to add some more ballast besides the 1000 built in, but since we both spend all our money on gas we were thinking of some ways to add weight other then the obivious yet expensive fat sac without spending much money, after looking at pop-products.com we had the idea of sand bags, is there other homemade solutions? tell me your ideas and thoughts thanks!

Matt, Seven gallon water containers from Walmart. They can be found in the sporting goods section. They fit perfectly in the storage lockers on the 04 x2 and they fit nicely in the bow. The containers are easy to fill, dump and move from one side of the boat to the other.

lead weights from tire shops, in burlap bags. Yeah, the are heavy and not easy to move but if your going cheap, and heavy it works.

Anybody ever try a waterbed bladder? I've seen new ones for $50 and used for $10. A single-bed-size mattress should be good for about 900 pounds when full.

if you used a waterbed bladder you would probably have to reinforce it with something. What could you use to rinforce it? BTW what size mattress would weigh 900 pounds?

I have used a waterbed bladder a couple of times. I went ahead and bought the upgraded one because they said it was reinforced. I never had any problems with it. It just takes up a lot of space.

I got the twin size and I put it right in the middle of all the seats. We had a 95 mastercraft 225 at the time. I have also used one on my 06 malibu vlx in the same place. I always put a fatsac up front too. Makes the wake huge!!

I was running in my vlx for surfing stock ballast 500lbs back corner I would remove the back corner seat and seat in front of it and thats where I put the waterbed. 450 lbs up front and I would adjust it with the power wedge
