I currently have a 04 Ford f150 Crew cab Lariat. I am starting to look at a new truck. I have not yet test drove a new Chev or GM. I am going to test drive a Nissan Titian as well. This is a company truck so I don't know if I can swing a diesel. I have a 05 Centurion Lightning I tow quite a bit. I would like to know your opinions on the new Chev & GM's Thank's in advance.

I have 2007 GMC Sierra XLT Z71 6.0L. I love it so far. I have not towed with it yet, but with 365 HP and 375 LBs there should not be a problem for my LSV. The diesel that I had before was so big that it needed the engine power just to get it going.

Here is a little a problem I had with my truck:

After all that has happen, I still love the truck. Here are a couple of pictures.

I got a 2007 GMC crew cab Texas edition about 2 weeks ago and so far I love it. It looks very similar to Romi's truck but it is 2wd and it has 20" wheels instead of 18" on the Z71. The Texas Edition basically adds the 20" wheels, the 5.3 instead of the 4.8 and the towing package. I will post a picture tonight when I get home.

You won't be disappointed with the GM stuff, Nissan builds a nice truck also. The Nissan will use more gas towing and driving around than a chevy or gmc.

I am going to price out a truck with the 6.0L Engine and one with out. The max engine runs on 4 cylnders on the highway Right? Do you guys have the heated seats? It looks like you can get heated rear seats to? I live in Canada and it gets cold in the winter, I love my heated seats. I had a 2002 chev z71 which was a great truck my company still has it, I am not partial to any brand, I really like the interior of my F150. I am not a Toyota fan the new tundra is nice but they usally are more expensive then most other half tons and smaller. they do have a good resale value. But that new engine is going to be something to see.

Anybody have numbers on MPG yet for the 6.0 and the 5.3? Not EPA ratings, but actual numbers.

Jay... I don't have heated seats in the back but do in the front. The front heated seats have two options to select from. It is either back and butt or just your back. It does have remote start although, which i will never use.

Greg... epa on the 6.0L is 19/16. My truck has 125 miles on it. So there is no real gauge on actuals. I live in a very hilly area and only make short trips around town. So I am guessing I am getting around 14 right now, based on the computer.

Romi I can't live without remote start I use it all the time in winter. I use it in the summer when it is really hot. Is it a factory option or aftermarket? I know some GM's You can get it.

Here is a picture of mine. It is not the loaded out version but it does have a few features like remote start, steering wheel controls and a few other things. According to the computer I have been averaging around 16mpg around town with the 5.3. The 5.3 has the cylinder deactivation.

go with the GMC....if your worried about gas mileage get the DURAMAX...it will always do better than gas when towing...however you will pay a LOT more for it

Remote start is standard with 1LT package. The new truck will tow better than previous generation. Why? Stiffer frame, more hp, larger brakes, etc, etc. My 05 with 4.10 rear and 5.3 get 12-13 towing and 15 around town empty 19 out on the highway. Good lookin trucks fellas.

My boat is being stored at my parents house so I havent had it behind the new truck yet but I am expecting it to tow just as well as my old Z71. It has the same motor but the new one has 30 more hp and more torque. The only option I really wanted on the new truck that it doesnt have is the 3.73 rear end. It has the towing package but just a 3.42 rear end so I am hoping that doesnt affect me too much on towing.

I bought a brand new 06 gmc z71 a bout 2 months ago. I have pulled my boat twice and it pulls nice. The 07 has a bigger engine so I think it will pull the shat out of you boat

Dennis-- I am not sure were the Canadian GM vehicles are made. I have heated seats in my ford and my girl loves them but we really need the dual climate control. She is always cold and im always hot. We just bought a 07 Nissan Xterra no heated seats which is okay because they are not leather.
