Hey Hope everyone is good today. I am going to install a custom ballast system in my boat, but I don't have a plan, or clue for that matter. I'm wanting to use two 650 sacs or something around that number, and Im going to build a carpeted box to hold the bags. (by the way I have an older dd ski boat, so the bags are going on either side of the motor cover. One question that i had is how do you secure a pipe to the bag without leakage? anyways suggestions or pics would be very helpful

If you go to www.fatsac.com, you can get fittings that will attach the hose to the sack with no leakage. I have been using them on my boats for the past 3 years, and putting tons of hours on them, and never had a problem.

depending on the the brand of bags you use, they will have different types of plastic fill / drain openings.

If it is the style with a plastic plug and a screw cap that goes over that, you can use nylon barbed fittings from the hardware store. Go to a Home Depot or Lowes and look in the sprinkler system section. They should have every type of fitting for connecting tubing. They also sell the tubing in bulk. Get something reinforced so it won't kink - like spa tubing.

Use hose clamps to secure the tubing over the fitting, even the one on the bag. You can find a barb fitting that fits the plastic opening on the bag. Put a clamp on the outside of that, then wrap the clamp with plastic stretch tape to protect the bag.

I'm not sure you will need the carpeted boxes. The 650's should stay in there pretty snug.
