Ok I am going to install 3 ballast Puppy pumps and I am going to get the Mastcraft Rocker Switches. My question is simple.

The three accessory switches that are currently in the dash of my 99Xstar are going to be replaced by the new ballast rocker switches. Since the accessory switches are currently powered throught the breaker board under the dash do I need to run and inline fuse to the ballast puppy and is it safe to use the current power supply to the accessory switches for the ballast puppy pump. Thanks in advance

Preston

i would think no. those pumps consume a lot of power. Melted wires, fuses, etc. i think you'd be better off with another power source

You need to use a relay switch. These are available at an auto parts store. The way this works is the switch controls the relay and the relay then opens or closes to control the accessory. That way all of the current runs thru the relay which is made to handle this load. These are fairly cheap and easy to install. The relay can be placed about anywhere and then run the wires from there.

Good info Jeff, but IMO, I wouldnt place them in/near the engine compartment for safety reasons.
