Yea, I always go with 22 as the average for most boats I ride. Behind a Super Air 220 I go 25, don't understand that. **edit part** I car feel that i'm going way fast at 25 but it just makes the wake so perfect. So I know it's the speed I should be for best performance but It's way fast. (Message edited by wakeriderixi on January 11, 2007)

Depends on how much weight you have in the boat like I have 4500 so I have to go 24-25 no matter what or my wake is going to start rolling over but if you have hardley any weight in your boat 22-23 is the best

Put simply, it depends (1) on the wake, and (2) on your ability. Dial in the speed to where the wake is clean and firm, then adjust your rope lenth to a comfortable starting distance. 4500 pounds in an X2 huh? What year? It sim

Andy, I grew up on Bass Lake and still have family there. Do you know the Rothchilds? My parents are teachers there.

ya but next time i go out(probably may)im going to add some weight to the front so the wake doesnt curl. i go 27 because if i dont the wake curls and i just heard that when you add some weight to the bow it prevents it from happening. im gonna lower my speed to probably 25 or so

I don't use a wakeboard so to jump across the wakes barefoot I go about 44.

Paul, Coincidentally, I usually ride at 22 or slightly less behind most boats but behind the Nauty, 25 is the right speed for me too. That's just what feels right for me. I've heard this from a few others too.

Colin, you should get your speedo calibrated. I would bet that you're going quite a bit slower than 27. If you were going that fast your wake definitely wouldn't be curling over.
