I am shopping for my 24 year old son a life jacket for Christmas, what is the best brand and where is the best place to shop online. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yesm, JP A-10 or molded Stance are the 2 best jackets, IMO. But if you want CGA, that is a different story.

I am perfectly happy with my ambush CGA vest from www.buywake.com. CGA is the only way to go in my opinion.

Sherry, if you do go Jetpilot, they run big. Go a size smaller than the sizing guide says.

HELIUM is my fave. Jet Pilot is good also. I'm 25. 6' tall and weigh 175. the medium in this one fits me perfect. It's CG approved but still stylish & comfortable. Good luck.

Yup, JetPilot Full metal Jacket. Snug as hell, CGA and you feel empowered in it...with all the padding it does give you a bit of a confidence boost. That said, I have an O'Neill Vapor when I don't want to feel too restricted. eBay is a good place for JetPilot gear too actually.

Rip Curl Stealth is also sweet, I had the A-10 but they dont sew the strap and it get's twisted up in the jacket. Good jacket but poor design. My favorite is the stance.

Sherry, just in case you didn't know, CGA stands for Coast Guard Approved and in many states is the law for good reason. Please make sure your son is around for years to come and purchase a CGA vest for him.

"a non cga vest that has alot of flotation go with a watson, i dislocated my arm and couldn't swim and it kept me afloat fine" Were your lungs filled with water? Because that is the only way to test if it will really float you, and that is why it is not CGA.
