Its nearly a ten year old board. unless its free I would look at something newer just because the designs have come a long way since then. Check out the CWB Pure, Kink, Sol or Faze. The Hyperlite Motive is also a great beginning shape.

Do you think it will work till i get out on the water to see if I can even do it? I am typically a 3 event skier, but think these days are over so I wanted to learn something new I think people who can do this well are the bomb. Thats why I'm a wanabe. Thanks for your help

Marc if it's free or extremely cheap for board and boots I don't think it's a bad idea. It will work to try the sport out, there's just so many recommendations we can give you for board and boot combinations that will be friendlier.

a buddy of mine used that board about 6 years ago. I rode it and thought it was fast and didnt grip well. I could probably ride it better now, but back then it was harder than my DU 138 Nelson Pro. If its free why not, you can always upgrade and spend some money later.

The LF omega w/ alpha bindings is a great set up.
Also check out the CWB Pure w/ Torq bindings.

Why don't you try this: www.neptunewake.com and you can feel 10 years ago.

i still ride my mission, and i know others that are still on their old Abyss. Neptune boards from 2000 on were built like tanks. Ive hit my mission on rails really hard at least a thousand times, and its still in awesome shape. I actually have an old video of Bill McCaffrey (sp?) riding the "Six". Sometimes its cool to see what was goin on 10 years ago, see where our roots are.

kevin, what video are you talking about. Is it spray or the old neptune instructional video? Or is it a promo vid...

I'm just curious, like if it's some crazy promo vid or something.
