So i got this 2005 Murray 138 with 04 temet bindings. It is a pretty heavy set up. I feel that I can't get much air with it. 1 its heavy and 2 its a continues with not much pop. So I want to get a new board that will pop me in the air and get me high but still get me to the other wake. I would also like it to be light. I am 145 pounds. Any suggestions on a new board or should I stick with the Murray.

Maybe you should take a look into your technique? If your approach is off, or you leave the wake incorrectly, a new board won't help much, if at all.

Here's a pic of me with the '04 Temet 138 DNA (same shape as the '05) and the '05 Murray bindings (same as '04 Temet's). I weigh 'bout 160 lbs. You may need to dial in your technique daddio. Not that I am a great rider, far from it. Just my .02.Upload

invest in some instructional dvd's before you give up on a board that was designed and ridden by a legend

Joe, I am with you on the fact that the setup is all around heavy. I have ridden it and felt the same. Having said that, I look at pictures when I had a 'light' setup years ago and compare that to my riding now with a 'heavy' setup...I get so much more air now that there is no way the weight of the board plays a major factor for us shmoes. Estimate it at 5 pounds difference (way too much I'm sure) and still you are only talking less than 3% of the overall weight of you+board. You may argue it will help your height...I'll argue it will help you 3% more (on a 6 ft wakejump that'll get you a whopping additional 2.16 inches :-)
