http://www.boardstock.com is the official site, I would presume they are having it at Clear Lake again ( hotels on site ).

Details prob won't be released till summer hits as the event is typically in Aug.

Come prepared for Marti-Gras on the water. Last year was the best so far, excluding Shasta of course. You can stay at Konocti resort right on Clearlake where the event is held.

"Last year was the best so far"
They were the worst riding conditions I have seen at any Boardstock ever. This past year would also be the first BS I have been too where we did not even bother to try to ride. I know Clear Lake well, one of my friends has a house & boat there, and I did not even bring my board with me.

If you are coming to Cali, hook up with someone and take a day at the Delta or another local lake for some riding. At least then you can say you rode in Cali.

party yes! good wakeboarding setup no! last year there were a ton of people there who didnt even care about wakeboarding, the party scene was great though, concerts rocked, id agree 100% with what peter said if your looking to see some good wakeboarding and experience the wonderful world we call norcal there 100 other events and places to ride id suggest to you.. you should come out for the spring ride! there always cool events going on at the delta and we also have some awesome lakes to check out.. hit up shasta or something!

We went 3 days early and had great riding. as for the riding conditions year 2 at shasta was the worst I ever seen they had 2 foot chop it sucked. But as pros they made it look so easy. If you want to ride up at clear lake just give us a call I will be up their wed. before Boardstock

Did you guys even bother to read the original post?? He did ask specificaly about Boardstock and where to stay, not about riding conditions. Most tour stops have rough conditions anyway...that's what seperates the men from the boys Peter. I've also ridden Clearlake, and like Sherman, have found good water. Myself, I didn't go to ride, but rather to just hang out, chill and be part of the event. For me is was the "best one so far".

Patrick, as you can see we all have our ideas of what an event should be. I was not trying to discourage you from coming at all, but suggesting that you take an extra day or more and explore some of what Cali offers in the way of wakeboarding for you. We have the infamous Delta with a thousand miles of often glassy water ways. Even on the windiest days there are spots that are ridable.

Clear Lake is a fun lake to be on when the conditions are right. We go there fairly often and I like the warm water in the summer for riding. Boardstock lost much of the true meaning and was taken into more of a commercialized party scene then a competition. The riders that I watched ride struggled and when a Pro is shakey going wake to wake, the fun of watching them is taken out. I remember seeing a rider go two passes without ever jumping because the conditions were so bad. Hopefully this year they get a better handle on the rollers.

Now watching a freestyle motocrosser in action is always fun. The bike stunt riders are a hoot to watch too. I must say though, some of the most memorable entertainment came from Clear Lakes finest meth fiend. She was eventually escorted out by security LOL

So come on out to California and party like a rockstar :-) Just find the time and a place to get in some of Cali's finest wakeboarding too, as the people are super friendly and always willing to hook up a fellow rider.

"100 other events". prolly stretching it there. Boardstock is the biggest event of the year on the left coast that I know of. Over 30,000 people attended over three days. Not to mention all the boats in slips and tied up to the "party line". It's evolved into a showcase of so much more than just riding or watching riding.

the party scene gets old. Been there done that. No offense, its fun and all but I wanna see some riding and on water organization. That would be cool. For me its all about the riding and thats why I got a boat.....to ride!

Peter Chandler was at boardstock...? Dang man, how did I miss you in the sea of people? I was easy to spot for a solid 30 second "demo" through the waist high swells. Truly the best display of "wakeboarding" for the masses! (Sike)

I'm with Isaac, Clear lake sucks big time anyways. The water always smells like low tide. The water conditions are below average at best. It take most of the year just to get that god awful smell out of your carpet. I want to see some great ridding and of coarse some hot ladies and suck down some brews, but mainly to see some great riding and Clear Lake is not about good conditions and it is far from clear water. They need to have it at Shasta, Orville, Don Pedro or New Melones. House boats, Party seen, yet good water as well.

Aaron, I was hanging out with Mike for awhile. Spent Saturday tied off on the water and hung out on land and the dock Sunday. It has been a long time...I now live in Santa Rosa myself. Call or email me sometime, my number is the same, and my email is in my profile.

It cracks me up how you guys keep bringing up Shasta. We ruined it ourselves, no one else to blame. Ain't gonna happen, it's over, let it go.

We went to Boardstock 95 to 99. When it got banded from Shasta I quit going, Sparky is right on, we killed it our self in 99. IMO 97 & 98 were the best years.

in my opinion and opinions are like as_holes we all have one. I for one have been to boardstock at shasta and clearlake. I didnt go to Boardstock when it was at the delta for my own reasons but I didnt slam the delta for Boardstock being their. But in my opinion clear lake was a great spot great party spot great concerts and great riding. The pro's did great that is why they are pro riders they can ride in choppy water and still make it look easy. It was a fun time we will be up their next year for Boardstock 11 hope to see all of you their

This is kind of off topic but it relate's I guess these event's try to have somthing for everyone. I see alot of people bagging on what ever things they are not into, and I understand your not gonna get pumped on partying if your not a party person. But why go if your not into that sort of thing, Its like going to a concert if you dont like live or loud music. IMO you can ride pretty much anytime get up early or stay out late or go on a week day. If your going to a event like this and think the water is gonna be smooth and your gonna get killer conditions is like saying your gonna not wait in line at the store's on Christmas eve. If your going to Boardstock IMO you should be going to #1 Party #2 Hang out with a bunch of other people partying (this can be good or bad) #3 See some wakeboarding #4 do some wakeboarding In that order.

I have been to every BS. I can honestly say this last one riveled many of the great years at Shasta. It has never been about great water conditions for the riders, but an overall spirit on the water. The addition of the live music, moto, street bikes, BMX, etc... was great. The spirit and party were great. Sure the conditions sucked, but that did not stop the guys from going off in the finals. I mean Rusty hit his SW Method Mobe and Blind Pete in a roller that was bigger than most wakes. Ike threw an S-bend in so much white chop that it was impossible to see where the wake was. I am not saying it was the best, but it has great potential! It was Danny and Rusty's first Boardstock. JB announced. Besides Big Phil, Mike Rogers, Ryan Seibring, Collin Right, all in the same venue...Now that's Boardstock!
