Looking at purchasing this... Its advertised as "ICS" construction... How much wood is used in the construction...Stringers, seat mounts etc?

I believe none. I could be wrong, but I believe Centurion hasn't used wood in a while.

There would have been a small amount of wood in 2000. None in the structure of the boat stringers etc or seats. there would be some under the vinyl on the sides of the boat and the engine hatch covers. The wood that was used was lifetime warranty stuff that Sanger and Tige brag so much about.

As of 2005 wood is used in the engine hatch, rear locker lids, and the drink holder boards in the cutouts... Plastic panels are just plain not stiff enough for these applications. Wood in these locations is not an issue. When properly constructed and cared for, wood is seldom a problem in a boat.

Pop quiz Hobie What year did MasterCraft go woodless? "Stringers are fiberglass, wood and aluminum..." Look the 2000 Elite V was ICS as a mater of fact it was the FIRST ICS boat. No wood in the stringers! The only wood was in none structural places and the wood was lifetime waranty XL panels......IT is a none issue!

Back in the day I was a MasterCraft promo guy from 1991 to 1999. The first year that MasterCraft started going wood free was 1997. My 1997 PowerStar was one of the first wood free boats. but it is a total non issue

Hobie, The only wood is in the removable panels, non-structual. The seat pedistal and the rest of the boat is ICS construction. Is your choice between a '97 MC and a '00 FL?
