surf real waves on 5.6 broadcast?

i think it would work. i have surfed for 7 years.I surf a custom made rusty with an extra skiny nose, tail,and just all around skinny.
the dimentions:6.0 by 18.25 by 2.15
the board doesnt plane that great so what if i used the 5.6 broadcast.Its got a wide nose, tail and its 20.75 inches wide.it might be hard to catch waves bc of no thickness on the board, but once up and going it'll plane bc of all the width.

I'd bet that paddling in would be tough. My son and his buddy paddle in for fun behind the boat...they get started holding the rope and then toss it, paddle to keep up - almost bodysurfing on the board and then jump up. You could test your theory pretty easy. Let us know.

I have the same question about the Landlock…. Has anyone ever tried to ocean surf one to these?

The broadcast has sharp thin edges like a wakeboard rather than big rounded edges like a surf board. I think you'd have a tough time with it.

I've tried a landlock in a wave pool...I'm a bigger guy 200+ and it had not near enough floatation to get my butt on the wave. Works way better for boat surfin'. No ocean experience, much rather save energy for a real board.

you would definitely need some small steep and fast waves to get up on a broadcast board. once you're up it will work fine, although it will slide out very easily because of the small fins. have you ever seen the pro skimboarders surf? They're amazing and they do it with smaller boards and no fins.

maybe somehow you can get towed in by a seadoo or something. id like to try.
