Working on switch hs & ts w2w. It has been a big help in cutting and landing all of my fs 180s. After those I plan on working bs 180s (reg & switch), shifty and maybe 3s. I'm old so if I ever hit those, I'll be done.

Got my half cab down this summer to the point I stick them 9/10. Working on switch TS 180s...land them all the time 1-wake...just can't quite get W2W. Earned my ollie BS 180, but can't seem to take it to the wake My goal is the backroll...been really close on both progressive and mexican, but just haven't stuck it yet...still some warm weather yet, I haven't given up!

Entrust..I know what you mean. I have landed some inside/out 1-wake BS 180s, but every time I get the nerve to try a full w2w bs180, I either get off axis or say 'wait to spin until the end' and then have only spun 90 degrees or end up taking a hard heelside edge. Scared me off of them for awhile.

I'm having a lot of fun this summer and I think it has helped with my progression. I have learned TS w2w, switch HS w2w, TS FS 180w2w, HS BS 180w2w, HS FS 360w2w, TS FS 360w2w. For the rest of the year I want to work on consistency and to work up the courage to try a backroll and to take the BS180 to a 3.

Catching your backside edge wtih a tall body position from doing w2w HS BS 180's is possibly about the worst crash out there...maybe next to the TS edge catch from a raley. The backside edge catches were so bad that I never do BS 180's anymore except for in the flats. Even those can be bad if you spin before you ollie!

I have been working on my backroll and landed the first one two weeks ago, after which I was able to land 2 more in a row. On my 5th try of the day I wrecked and broke my binding plate. Last weekend I Landed one more. I have also been working on backside 180s. No success there.

Lately been working on HS BS 180. Got this trick consistant last year and lost it. Trying to get it back. I've Only hit it a few time this year. Seems when I pass the handle under my butt I can land it, but it looks sloppy. Here's video of how I most commonly crash, handle in hand, but boat pulls me forward, and me landing it. You can see how the handle pass is different. Any tips would be appreciated. Sucks learning this trick again for the 2nd time. I'm only hitting it like 1 out of 50. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v338/alien_leg/?action=view¤t=Stan.flv

Loren and Entrust - I found the easiest way to landing the bs 180 w2w is learn the ollie bs 180 1 wake, then inside out. The biggest thing on the wake 2 wake is to have patience. When I was first learning them, I would make sure to get a solid grab before spinning. This helps set your axis.

I'm trying to break out of the Mexi and throw a true Backroll, also might just need to stay with the mexi and start grabbing it. O just got back from Powell and learned why I stopped trying to do Raley's. I got the balls to try it on the skate and commited 100% and landed laid out some what and knocked the wind out of me. Prop's to all who throws a Raley!

i'm FINALLY getting close to w2w (hs)! i am consistently landing with my lead foot on top of the opposite wake ... only a few more inches and i'll have it. and i'm getting about 1/2 way to the opposite wake on my toeside jump. plus i can do surface 180's on my skate if i concentrate hard and remember to keep the handle low!

Hunter- Try practicing your 3's on a trampoline to get used to passing the handle. it will still be diff on the water but once you got the handle pass down it will be so much easier! just remember to pull the handle to the small of your back and look over your lead shoulder! good luck man

This summer, I've already landed My HS w2w and my ollie fs 180. Towards the end of my riding, i can hit the top of the second wake on ts w2w. I tried a 360 last weekend, missed the handle, and i tried it backside without thinking about it. I think I need to try fronside first, but i overrotated it and am pretty sure i got a concussion, but all in all, I was REALLY close to landing it. I'll try it again next time i go out.

Feels pretty lame posting after all these dudes throwing some serious shnizz but I was really pumped this weekend about landing my first (and did several) switch TS 180. It's really a great feeling when you are riding and getting ready to hit the wake and you have to ask yourself..."Wait, am I switch right now?"

I had big goals for this summer starting with simple things like w2w toeside jump and it's going much better that I was expecting!!! First, I did my fist w2w toeside jump and now, the 180 became so easy!!! My w2w switch came better than my normal side (I realy don't understand but...). I started to grab all my 180... cool!!! Since 3 weeks, I do 9/10 of my hellside backroll and I landed my firts tantrum 2 days ago (a big one).... wouhouuuu!!!! Big summer for me!!!! SO, it's not ended and I'm going to my first 360!!!!

Alan, when I do OHH's, I come in with the same approach as a hoochie glide, knees crouched, wide edge, but not a super hard cut. I take my edge very progressive as I do with any glide. For an OHH I personally have to look back when I hit the wake and grab the board a little later than you probably should, but they key is is that you need to pull it down faster than you would a hoochie because for some weird reason i feel that the trick goes faster, which is probably how you got knocked out. Its not like a hoochie where you can kind of hunt around for the grab, if you miss it on an OHH, you need to accept your losses and pull it in. For the past couple years I have been doing them more glidey instead of flat, and how i do that is when I hit the wake, I push down with my front hand which allows me to control the rope the entire time and reach for the grab right as I am getting my pop. As long as you keep the rope positioned towards your hip, you will be able to pull it down and not get KO'd.

cool thanks. i thought the trick was gonna be easier than the hooche since my dominant hand(right) stays on the handle thus making it easier to pull the board back in. do you think that because you are looking back this is causing you to end up in more of a glide position? similar to a 911. i may try that. i'd rather have a glide than a standard ohh, since it doesnt look much different than the hoochie.

Looking back and pushing the handle down to my hip puts me into the glide position similar to the 911. I feel like once I learned them like a 911, the trick felt a lot smoother in the air. My regular OHH's felt kind of hucked, but when i made them a glide, I felt like I was in more control. When you do it, you don't have to get it all the way 911 at first, work towards it, but I am intentionally gliding

Want my backroll real bad by the end of summer. Been working on it on and off for the past season and a half, dealing with injuries, and have about 3 more weekends of riding left. Also, whenever wakeboarding comes up in conversation and the clueless chick asks me whether or not I can do flips, I would like to be able to answer 'yes' to that question

I landed 3 TS 540's toward the end of last summer, then this summer I was getting close but kept popping the handle on the landing. Finally last weekend I threw a wrapped TS 5 and landed my 2nd and 3rd attempt. Landed another one the next day too. Its such a "floaty" feeling move when you throw it wrapped.

Clay it sucks I feel like i could spin with better consistency just w2w as soon as I go for the 7 off the dup it either hucks me off axis or I loose the handle. Good luck with yours man. Kyle: on the bs 3 try comming off the wake and sticking you A$$ up in the air as you begin to rotate blind. It helps keep your body in proper position for landing.
