I just started riding this year (May) and been riding my buddies 138 watson with some shane boots from last year. Im diging that ride but i need to get my own. I was surfing ebay and wasnt sure what i should get. Im about 160 lbs. I can w2w both ways, grabs and doing w2w 180's and looking to progress alot more. what would you get if u had up to 250-300 to spend on a set up. I dont mind riding last years stuff. Seems like ebay has the best prices

ride what you are most familiar with... especially when on a budget and new to the sport. Buy what you know you like, that way you dont waste money and time on a board that you hate.

try to demo what you can at a local shop if possible

check out the board wizard. that should give you a good idea of where to start at. also, if possible, demo some boards before you purchase.

im also 160 and about your skill level
i have the LF fish 129 and i love it
its awsome
so much pop and soft landings
you said only 250-300 and the 2007 board is 300 so you can probably find a 2006 board online for about 230

129 isnt too small? I was looking at the lf team on ebay but by the time i wanted to order the 139 it was gone. Im thinking even the 134 might be too small for me

sizing on the fish is a little different than most boards. thats prolly about right

well i would ride a 139 on a normal board but the fish you are supposed to ride 10cm smaller because its wider so the same surface area is there.
with the wider board you get more pop and soft landings

Go demo an absolute 135 or 141. The 05-07's are all the same bottom. See if you like it...

The L.F. Team 134 is good for 100 to 170lbs according to board guide but if i was u i wouldnt go lower then a 136 but u should be fine on a 140

i wouldn't buy a LF fish without trying it first. if you have a shop around definitely demo some boards.
