Cos they've got so much weight in them, and as a general rule of thumb more weight = more water displaced = bigger wake.

Danny they do make Jet boats. Generally though wake boats are designed to sit lower for accesability and comfort.

The hull of wakeboard boats are designed to keep the mass below the water to displace a bigger wake! The yamaha and sea doo are a basic run about they are designed to be okay at everything and great at nothing! Oh I almost forgot danny is a dumb ass!

They sit higher because they are more like a sporty run about boat. They newer ones look pretty good. Also Danny is not stupid just not very smart.

If a yamaha weighed 6-7k pounds then it would sit lower in the water.

So by Danny's definition, an X-80 is a jet ski. Two engines, shaped like a boat...hmmm

Ski boats don't rely on "leaning" the way deeper-vee hulled boats do... they "pivot". You don't need as high of a sidewall when you're not leaning into every turn, and when you're running in calm water the majority of the time.

Jet skis can do a spin around 360 when they're running but I don't think an X-80 can. Of course a Direct Drive can do a spin around 360 too so maybe they're jet skis ? I think Anodyne's got a pretty close answer.

"Yamaha Motor Corp. purchased Century in September 1995." http://www.centuryboats.com/history.php Theoretically, the do make non-jet boats - or at least own C & C Manufacturing. The tag on the Century web site actually says "Century - a Yamaha Boat Company". They may not want their name on the boat (due to them wanting to sell their engines to other manufacturers) but they own the company that makes the boat.
