Matt, is that 750 plus the stock ballast. If yes, you should get a good wake with that weight. I have a 05 x2 and we have between 700 to 900 lbs plus the stock ballast. I wouldn't describe our wake as huge but it has a very nice shape and you can ride all day on it. BTW, we can also ride with just the stock ballast.

Matt,

If the 04 x2 is like the 05 x2, it doesn't have 1000 lbs of stock ballast. I have three tanks that hold around a total of 650 to 700 lbs.

It will definitely make a difference. I have the same hull and, in addition to the stock ballast, we added 240 in sand to the surfside along with ~400 in fly high sacs (2 x 250 that are not entirely full). This with only a driver in the boat is enough to easily surf with no handle.

We leave the stock locker ballast opposite the surf side empty and play around with the center ballast. I'm guessing the back to front distribution along the surfside is around 80/20 with more weight in the back. Perfect pass between 9.3 and 10.5 depending on how the wake looks. Good luck.

That should be enough, Just put it all on the side that you want to ride.
