Let me first start by saying that I'm not too knowledgeable about motors.
I have a 1996 MC 205 with an Indmar 350. I've purchased a Perko Flush Pro, but I'm not sure where it needs to be placed in the intake hose to function properly.
Does it just need to be right before the impeller or back further?
There is some sort of valve/pump also located in the intake line (perhaps the transmission fluid cooler?) that is below the exhaust manifold. Should the Flush Pro be installed before this so it will always be receiving water?
My guess is that it just needs to be right before the impeller, but I don't want to screw anything up.
The Perko Flush Pro needs to be installed between the raw water intake grate (the thing that goes thru the hull that routes water to the engine) and the valve/pump, as you call it, (yes, its the transmission cooler).
I have a 2004 centurion cyclone v-drive. I installed mine between the trans cooler and the impeller. works great on the garden hose and sure helps with winterizing. no problems at all. good luck.
