I am in. I need to hook my BLX-10's up anyway. Another benefit of the BLX-10's is that they are balanced & isolated so there are no noise & voltage issues between the boats that sometimes happen when you are linking RCA's.

Sorry guys, I guess I over reacted a bit. I was with some tough critics last weekend and I've been trying to prove myself ever since. Thanks for all of your compliments.

see. the thing about systems is that they are all different. some may sound clear in the boat but the bass in the boat might not carry far. with my boat it pounds but doesnt pound from far. other boats may pound real hard but dont sound good in the boat. its all what you want in a system. now if there was a install comp like fab work, led's, tvs and just bad a.. installs. thats another factor and where big money goes too.. bro but hands down 144 is 144. thats dope

I didn't even notice the chrome tower until you pointed it out. That's cool! Polished - ugh, there's some work but you could do it fairly easily after stripping off the clear coat (if there is any).

Talking about Joe's detail level on his boat... He brings it to a whole new level. Look at this picture. The rack, the tower, the clamps, the windshield frame, the steering wheel, the rub rail are all polished to a mirror finish. The black base of the rub rail and windshield base even look like black chrome when it's rubber. I saw the boat at the Spring ride last year and again this year. I didn't think it was possible but it was even shinier this year. (Message edited by mikeski on May 10, 2007)

2nd Mikeski's comments. That is one bad A$# boat. The more you look at it the more cool custom touches you notice. Hands down the sickest boat I have ever seen in person.

Sounds like everything was a blast. I couldn't make it out there...Is there a way to find Db ratings without entering the contests? The guys at Neptunes finished my system over the winter and I'm wonder how it measures up. To the ear the systems sounds awesome, just looking for some data to back it up.

Hey Charles Thansk 4 posting the results Do you have the rest of the DB readings for the tower's. I thought Jim said my tower did a 127 or somthing? Along: Im pretty sure Joes tower along with all his Racks , Windshiled and all the other tid bits on his boat are all polished aluminum. His boat is always looking good "Blinging". Joe's relaxation threpy is a rag and mothers aluminum polish.

Funny, I almost replied to G's message stating that Joe's tower is polished stainless because it looks like polished stainless. Then I realized it's a MC and MC towers are aluminum... that's a lot of mothers! Chas & Jim, When do I get a chance to embarass myself, when is the next event? How about Tower Park? I am still trying to figure out how to rig my LEDs to interfere with the SPL meter... LOL. Mikeski

Mothers wont work at all. I tried it on my racks and it didn't do a very good job. Now, I got some good aluminum polish that is like a clay wrapped in paper that works wonders!! Maybe even a little 1000 grit to take out some pits or scratches, but the polish clay stuff is amazing. Even got rid of the machining marks.

Hey does it strike anyone weird becides myself w at the towern #'s for this compition. Joe's boat has 6 NVS's on the tower and his tower hit a 129.4 DB My boat has 4 6x9 shooting back and 4 shooting down and I hit a 127 DB What other boats in the Drive by compition were HCLD's

Thats funny G, I didnt think they were even able to get a reading off of your boat cause they kept asking you to come back and try again. I chalked it up to the 6x9's not projecting as well as the hlcd's. I was impressed you were able to hit 127! but were they actually able to get a reading? It didn't seem like they got a reading by the way they were talking, maybe mixed up names and numbers? Did anyone think of rocking some Opera for the tower competition? Seems that would have been much higher, than trying to reproduce lows at the same time.

play some house music like the "launch" by sand storm. that song has some good horns in it.yea g. something was wrong with your score and joes. thoes nvs speakers should blow 6x9 out of the water. no disrespct to you. really the comp isnt really acc because of the fact that the dude talking on the mic for the double up contest. the sound off mic had to pick up some of that noise.

Tower SPL was very hard to get that day,the wind played the biggest factor. We are working on better ways of doing the drive by.

Jerry: Yea I know thoes 10 inc NVS should have broke the DB meter. My little 6X9's are loud but in no way should they be as close the DB of the HCLD's. I think when you play "The Launch" you have to have glow sticks and spin them around as you play it and take some E, J/K LOL

interesting. I've always thought trance (or house, ewhatever you call it) would give a system a nice full range workout. you could call the tower spkr comp the "roll by"

I have found that house music has a larger frequency range than most music plus its my fav There is a note in a few house songs that my brother has recorded that has blowen up 2 pairs of my tower speakers. Its a crazy sinth noize a cross between a dirty bass and a low range buzz. Its crazy loud and it works the hell out of the mid range I think its right at the cut X-over off of where my tower speakers shouldnt play at the low end of the X-over setting. Hip Hop pretty much has the same range start to finish and it dosent give the highs that good of a work out but it gives the sub's a beating and thats what we build Big Bass systems for. To make the following shake in no piticular order Drinks, Dashboards, Girl booty your eye balls, The boat next to you, The house 5 doors down. Break beats are a pretty good cross between House and Hip Hop. They have the Highs and Mids of house and the lows of Hip Hop. Every system has a special song that rocks it better than the next. Joe says his NVS tower pumps to some contry song called "Song of the South" better than anything else. Glad I wasnt around to find out (I hate country music) and hearing it at NVS volume would kill me .
