For me it was just timing. I started throwing them later on the wake and that helped me. The more you do them the better they will get.

The biggest mistake most people make when learning the Tantrum is throwing the trick to early. Be sure you take it off the top of the wake, that will give you the kick you need to start your rotation.

that looks pretty good. looks like you may be throwing it alittle early. Try working on throwing it alittle further up the wake.

Taylor my tantrums look almost exactly the same and I'll admit my problem is taking off too early. To me it seems like taking off earlier will give more of a trip to get the flip going which is why I do it. Somebody prove me wrong so that I can confidently stop doing this. Waiting will obviously give you more height which makes the trick easier and more controlled.

Look at the line tension in your pic and the other pic. That is a sign that you are throwing it early and to hard. You see how much more tense you are in your body potion also. But like i said ealier the more you do them the better they will get. So keep it up.

taylor, it looks to me from the picture that you arent exploding enough off the wake when you make your trip (judging by where your head is looking and how your body is still in a little tuck), if you look at the picture belowe you; you can see that the guy is fully extended out from exploding all he could at the top of the wake and his head is looking around to where he will be landing.....try coming in with a little more weight on your front foot rather then your back, keep your eye on the top of the wake and sit a little low so you can have more explosion when you pop off the top. really jump when you trip. Almost imagin yourself doing it on a trampolean and explode as much as you can so your body becomes extended all the way out. but a big tip about a tantrum... patience is everything. dont rush it. -Kaesen

backroll is kinda like goin around in a tube. a tantrum is a true backflip, its feet over head and down.

Do you mean a backroll is tucked and a tantrum is layed out? Thanks

no, backroll, the board is perpendicular to the boat, a tantrum has the board parallel to the boat
