From what I have been told because of the contour of the windshield it has to be taken out to be tinted, which voids the warranty. I have looked into doing it and that was the answer I got

look at the james bubba stewart thread and his tint looks great too. I'm thinking that's the way i'm going to go(i believe it's one of the lightest tints you can get.

you do not need to remove the glass in order to tint the windshield

I'm with Pete, if you are going to do it go black. Most of the time you are higher that the glass (can't wait for the day I can sit in the seat and see fully out the wind shield) and don't need to see out it. It really looks good but I would rather buy another pump and sack then the tint.

If you go 5% on both sides you can see out. It's dark but you can still see the person in the water during the day. Even if you keep your shades on, and look through the glass. It's exactly like the back windows on a car with a factory tint. (like a tahoe or escalade) It's dark when you look out of those windows at night and pretty good during the day.

remember that on a really hot day im usually squinting so mmuch my eyes hurt, even with shades, so i dont think it would be a problem. Plus it keeps your dash looking really nice in a car, but it would probably really protect the dash in a boat.

I agree that 5% looks great ( my nauti is sporting 5%) however you should know that you will get a glare on the inside of the glass when the sun shines from behind at the inside of the sheild with 5%. We tint most of our customers boats with 15% Llumar film. Still a great look but no glare. You can see some examples on our website srcartronics.com under projects / boats. Hope this helps you out.

I have never had a issue with a boat company canceling the warranty because of tinting the windows. On the Malibus you have to remove the glass to tint it the right way I believe.
