I was looking at the Fuel TV awards and was trying to figure out what makes one more fun to watch than others. In my opinion what makes snowboarding one of the best is amplitude. I think the same with BMX and skate. I am not a big street skate fan but like watching it when they do big air tricks. Snow skiing is fun to watch when they are going big. None of them can get air without some form of help like a ramp or half pipe. Obstacles can be fun too.
With that said, I think wakeboarding can be made fun to watch, especially on TV, by changing up the format. I know the purist will be against this because it should be about going big wake to wake. Problem is you can only go so big wtw. wtw should always be the biggest part of any comp but it could be changed up to make it more interesting.
If you were tasked to put a pro comp together that would draw the interest of TV what would you do? Start with a blank slate. Forget how it is done now. What would you do?
