Ken, Nice boat! Just a really quick question as Im in the market for a new Moomba, why did you go with the outback V vs the mobius LSV? when I priced it out it seemed to be cheaper to get an LSV than a outback with the tower and EZ cruise or PP and Ballast? Just curious if there was something I was missing?

Now as of 06 they are no longer the same boats. Different hulls on the outback V and the LSV. Here's where it gets confusing tho. Why boat companies can't just change the name rather than the style and keeping the same name I have no clue. Marketing to confuse us I'm sure. That is why I hate MC ( just their marketing) How we supposed to keep all the hull cjhanges and what not when the boats have the same name) Why not just name the new boat the X2 and keep the old the same...I"m sure that's why I"m not paid to be the big boss tho . The Outback LSV and the Moomba LSV are the same (this is a new hull for 06 longer wider and deeper). However the Outback V is the old hull. So the Outback V is like 5k cheaper if I"m not mistaken. The outback V still kicks a great wake when weighted, but the new LSV is that much better. That wake can be GINORMOUS BTW Love that beige with the green color scheme. My fav by far (Message edited by r3612 on October 10, 2006)

Isaac I ski and everyone else boards, I didn’t just want a pure wakeboard boat I wanted a good cross over boat, I am glad I choose this one; it’s a great boat for what I need.

2000 Mobius-V. I owned it for five years and loved it. I sold it this year with 700 hours on it, and it still ran / looked great. I'll never have a bad thing to say about Moomba or Skier's Choice as a company.

I'm new to the WakeWorld but here's my '01 Mobius. It's not for sale. It's just the pic I had when I bought it. (Message edited by tidirtboy on October 29, 2006)

Jeremy, Clean lookin boat... I got a chance to ride behind the same year and make of Moomba this summer... once I let out a bunch more rope from what the owner rode... I really enjoyed it. No extra sacks... just factory ballast and 4 people in the boat. I know Colby thinks Moomba's stink... but I dont

Thanks Kevin. I absolutely love it. Haven't had any problems with it yet (knock on wood). I just have the factory ballast under the rear seat and around four people in the boat. Gives a good enough wake for right now with me just beginning. Next summer, I'm going to put some more weight in it though. Like Jeff said, "The choice of boats often comes down to best bang for the buck". Yeah, if I had the money, I would have bought a brand new MC X-Star, but I don't have the luxury of my parents buying everything. I work for everything I own.

Jeremy, Learning proper technique and not using a big wake as a crutch IS a good place to start. I would recommend "The Book" DVD set and at least 3 sessions with a competent coach to get you going in the right direction. That way you wont have to re-learn and eliminate bad habits. At the start of the season I ran 2000# plus wedge plus at least 4 people in my 23LSV and let me tell you it was a big silly wake that scared alot of people. Little kids were on shore running away from it I just couldn't resist it because the boat responds so nice to extra weight; however, toward the end of the season... I went back to factory ballast because thats all a guy really needs... unless your going for the 1080 of course. Good luck.
