I'd have a Malibu trailer with a Mastercraft sitting right on top of it... what a beautiful trailer.
I'd personally go with an x15. I think the boats are quite similar in function but vastly different in form. Interiors and styling are notably the main difference. Wake characteristics can be changed on both boats, and I'm sure one would never get bored regardless if it was a Bu or MC.
Statistically, values hold better on a mastercraft. But it's cheaper to get into an equivalent Bu. If one were to do a comparative analysis, you would see an equilibrium point where your out of pocket money would be the same. It's just a matter of if you wanna pay for it up front or take it from the back.
Does anyone have any first hand info that MC has a better resale value than Malibu? This is a serious question, I always hear this, but have never seen proof.
Ben, you could get an MC on that trailer, it's just an Extreme, Malibu does not make their own trailers.
