I ride finless. It was an adjustment at the begining, but I think it helps you learn to stay on edge better.

and you also have a lot of time on your hands to write like. Mike yeah a lot of boards are made with the idea that you can ride them both ways.

You want to ride finless???? Try a Roam board. That's about as finless as you can get.

I used to ride finless on my old board, makes surface spins easy (possible). I've got a LF Trip 143. I don't use the center fins, but like the edge fins. (Message edited by bigshow on May 10, 2005)

What are fins?? Just kidding, but I don't think I've used any in 5 years.....all about the edge control. It forces you to be a better rider. It also sometimes forces you to slip out on a landing and break your face, but ahh, you win some you lose some, right??

The funny thing is, unless you are all riding boards from 5 years ago or more, then chances are you do have fins on your board, the only difference is that they can't be removed! Later, jjakober

i guess he's talking about molded fins. still makes no sense. I can the fins off my 04 tfd! what you think about that!!! go ahead, break me off some more not-thought-out wake philosophy...

As I stated: "chances are you do have fins on your board", note the "Chances are" part, yes there are boards out there without any molded in fins, but the majority of the boards made today have some sort of molded in fins on them. Sounds pretty thought out to me, but what do I know, I’ve only been wakeboarding since 1991. I guess I should leave this kind of discussion to the experts! Out, jjakober

I think what jjakober meant, which happens to be what I was thinking as well, is that a lot of people say they ride "finless" when they are really riding with molded in fins, thereby giving them better traction even without the center fin than many of the boards from back in the day. For example, I've ridden various forms of the Premier for the last 2.5 years. I've almost never had the center fin in except rare circumstances. That board gives me way more edge hold and is way more stable w/ just the molded in fins than my old Double Up Boards w/ the center fin in. I know this for sure because my Premier just broke and I was forced to go back to the old DU w/ 1.5 inch fins. Sketchy! I think its "funny" too...seeing people claim "finless" when they have so many "fins", "channels", etc. running under their boards to provide tracking and stability. But, then again, I'm somewhat of an old-timer too (since '90 or '91 too). We must have strange senses of humor..

Hey 909.... You're soft. Cappin on people on the internet is lame. Grow up, take a joke and make what you are talking about clear to other people. I've never heard of "riding on rockers" before, but there are a ton of people here that could give opinions on riding finless. You want to bash people?..... Go to wakeboarder.com or somewhere children hang out.
