Did anyone see Ricky G. ride at the Irvine stop? He made it into the second round this stop. Did he have his new board under him?

Yeah, he was riding the 2005 Ricky G, which is a different design from 2003-4. It's a little wider, with different ends and some additional small rails on the bottom. It will come in three sizes.

I might have a pic or two, but I have to go through about 800 from the weekend to find it. Look for it in the photo gallery later this week.

It was muddy, scratched, stickered, bent and out of gas, but it was worth it! Eddie is super cool and I was especially impressed with the WakeWorld colors he was flying on Saturday!

I mentioned this in another post, but I will say it again. Just from those pics, the graphics look to be from the same artist who did the 03/04 model. With all the tat's he has, Im guessing he probably has some friend/tat artist do his boards or something. Can anyone confirm or blow away assumption? (Message edited by r_dub on July 20, 2004)

Yeah, I dont know about his new board, but his old board was done by a great tattooist. He has quite a wait to get work done by him. Ricky said last year at one of the Fully Committed stops that he did the design on a piece of sheet metal or something like that. He also said something about him doing all of the graphics for this years boards.

did anyone check out the '05 ricky g? The tip/tail profile has changed and there were some ridges between the molded in fins that were added. I thought it was interesting looking.

Jacob did a photo shoot for the 05 Hyperlite brochure. They hooked him up with an '05 Era. It is so sweet and the way you described the ridges between the molded fins sounds alot like it. As far as the Ricky G board goes, I love the praying Westside hands.

talked to a GB rep. this morning. my 05 Gonzales will ship tommorrow! I cant wait. They will be making 132, 138, and 142. By the time I get mine someone else will have posted pics of it I'm sure. All of the graphics for their 05 boards are done, but they are still working on all of the molds. Expect another great lineup from Gator again this year.
