I have a 2002 Malibu Response LXi and I am thinking of adding the wedge to it (I had the mounting bracket installed when the boat was built.) I have two basic questions:
1. How difficult is it to raise and lower the wedge when the boat is in the water.
2. How much does the wedge impact the wake when it is up out of the way. I still slalom (I know that is blashpemy around here) in the course and don't want to mess the wake up for that.
Moving the wedge up and down is easy to do from the water or through the trap door on the swim platform. The wedge doesn't impact the wake once on plane. It'll catch some of the spray from the exhaust but that's it. I slalom as well just behind a different model.
mark, my old flightcraft sportster had a wedge it was easy to put up and down, and as the other replies say it doesnt touch the water when on the plane. When backed up with three 650lB fat sacks the wake was huge
