After a horrible start to our spring here in the NW I was finally able to get this years SE on the water for a couple days. This is my third SE I've owned and they just seem to get a little better each year. The boat came from the factory absolutely turn key ready all timers and surf settings where dialed. Of course I tweaked it a little bit with some lead bags but it's great stock. The Autowake feature is extremely cool and despite being a bit skeptical it's very easy to use and very functional as well . I've done some upgrades including a full GatorStep floor kit , Surf pockets on the Bimini and a Exile system. Ready to put some more hours on this one.
That is a great looking SE. We have been road tripping ours, added a Plug and Wake system from Wakemakers, and 500 lbs of lead from LeadWake, and the wake is the best we have had to date of any boat, super in love with this boat.
That is a reasonable question. This was just a quick teaser I did for our lake pleasant stop on our 6000 mile road trip. I have been filming with multiple angles and even with a drone. I will be releasing more video when I get a chance. You can look at this video I did on first stop where I tested stock and then added the prototype wakemakers "plug and wake" system and 500 lbs of lead from leadwake.com. Keep in mind that the wave got better later, and this last stop at lake pleasant has been the best so far. We had some passive leaking and added a couple check valves which has been great.
Also, that angle is not that low, it is above the rub rail and just below the top ledge. The GoPro is set to 1080p/120 NARROW to avoid skewed perspective. I try to avoid wide angles where possible and mostly use my iPhone and hero 4s on NARROW.
So here that video with more angles, but not the best wave:
So how did you do the surf pockets on the Bimini? I def need those. í*½í¸
I've done the surf pockets on my last couple boats. Super simple add on that protects the boards a bit better as well. Local shop here in Portland has done them for me.
My latest Mojo has the Bimini surf pockets and man they were nice. Thing to add is the pockets covered almost the whole board as well added padding to the cross bars to protect the boards. Not the best picture but you get the idea.
