Anyone know the standard ball size of a G23 trailer? It's not 2" right?

Nautique doesn't build trailers, so it depends on the trailer manufacturer. The ones I've seen are 2 5/16...but they all come from CTW. I'm pretty sure Ramlin uses 2 5/16. But I also know you can get 2" balls rated to at least 10,000lbs, so the manufacturer could go that way, too.

This is a good read, especially towing a g23. Most people are towing more than the capacity of the hitch , ball and truck when pulling a g23.

I would check the weight rating on those 3 ball hitches sometimes they aren't up to the job.

Take a look at this thread, you'll be able to make it 2 miles but it'll be hard on the LR4, but thats a solid reliable SUV, right?

Well, better traction than a 1500, no doubt they are capable SUV's, I was just making a dig at British reliability.
The point of the link was looking at actual weights of the G23 on the trailer, which is more than 1,000 lbs over the listed tow rating above. There has been many threads here about going over the tow rating and it all depends on the situation. ONLY 2 miles? NO highway? You'll probably be ok, but if you need to tow any further than that and you're asking for trouble mostly from a legal liability standpoint. If you get in an accident, even if it wasn't your fault, you might be help partially liable and the insurance company might not pay your claims since you were not using the LR4 per the manufacturers instructions.
FWIW, my Sequoia is rated at 7,100 lbs based on the new SAE J2807 towing standard, it was closer to 10,000 before the new standard was adopted by Toyota in 2011. I bet the LR4 is a bit below the 7,716 number with the new standard.

Gotcha. Thanks for the info. I think since its just a 2 mile stretch city road we will go for it. If we need to go further ill look into a weight distro hitch or w/e else is needed

Check the listed tongue weight on your LR4 hitch and also try to find out what the rear axle, hubs, wheels and tires are rated for, you might want to go with a WD hitch from the start. I bet it's max tongue weight is about 700-800 lbs and you may be over that with a dual axle G23.

Will you post a picture of the LR4 towing the G23 when you hook it up? I want to see the LR4 lowrider edition. I guess it might have air suspension though and might not sag?

That whole post is crazy. You don't need a weight distributing hitch when your towing any of the wakeboard boats not even the G or any of the other 24 footers. I have pulled sea rays that weight allot more and had no problems. I have the same truck he does a diesel excursion and it will tow just about anything. People get to techy.

Towing a boat of that size with that thing is retarded. You should be slapped for putting everyone on the road in danger. WALLY!

We are 300lbs under the limit of the trucks towing capacity. We were perfectly legal and safe. It didn't even feel like there was a boat behind it.
Also who are you calling a wally, thats a pro tour riders boat...

I hate the comment u "can't even feel it behind". But if weight with all the gear and trailer and such is under capacity then no problem.
Remember with almost all the vehicles it's not the go it's the slow that's the issue.

You'd be surprised. Those rovers are built like trucks. They're very heavy, and quite capable. Don't let the soccer mom look fool ya.
With that said.....my buddy has the same SUV and you can definitely tell when the boat is back there.

Does he have the sway control option? and the HD package?
When i say you cant feel it, i mean that at no point it i feel like i was pushing the limits of the car. Braking, accelerating, turning etc...
Anyways boats in the water and wont be towed again for a while....

Is that a G23 or a G21? I know that LR4 is not small but the G in that picture looks normal size, not giant G23 size.

Is it all of the way on the trailer? Looks like it's hanging off the back.

G23.
Delta Force - I was surprised that the ram-lin trailer didn't have a boat buddy or EZ on clamp, just a roller at the front. And 2 straps. But yea its on as far as it would go.
