Hello everyone,
I am new to the forum and wake boat ownership as well. I have always kept an eye on this forum over the years and I really respect yalls input and knowledge. I am looking for a v-drive boat in the 20k-25k range. I am mainly interested in early Malibu Wakesetters (2001-2003), Nautiques (2001-2002), and Supra Launch SSV (2003-2004), but I am open to good deals. I have thoroughly searched Craigslist, Boattrader, and OnlyInboards, but I have not much luck. I am located in Nashville and I would appreciate it if anyone knows of any for sale or have any trade-in boats to let know. I have cash in hand for the right boat. I look forward to hearing yalls input. Thanks.

Like william said in another post:
Here's the questions you need to ask yourself before you even look at boats.......
Price?
What you do percentage wise (wakeboard, surf, skate, just ride)?
Size of crew?
Limitations on size? (tow rig, garage, parking)"

Thanks for the replies. I grew up wakeboarding and surfing behind my dads Tige 22v Rider Edition. However, this is my 1st wake boat to own myself but I am an experienced rider. I loved that boat, but now my main concern is finding a well taken care of boat that I can pay cash for, I saw that Malibu a while ago, I like it but I thought the hours (780 in thinkit was) may be a little high?

Those hours are nothing if it was well taken care of. I am pushing 600 on my 2002 wakesetter & it runs flawlessly. I do oil changes every 30-35 hours, tranny & vdrive once a season, new filters, etc.

That's a tough price range to find a nice v-drive, but they're out there! I'm selling my Centurion (not very aggressive with the advertising), I have a baby coming in June so I don't think I'll be doing much riding this summer. Fits your bill!

Yea the colors look sweet on that Moomba. Have you ever been behind one? I am assuming the wake is similar to a Supra's?

B, Below are a couple more options for you. Not the boat models on your list but they are local in the Nashville area.
1. 2004 Tige 22V- I do not know anything about this boat but looks like a great deal based on the listing information.
http://nashville.craigslist.org/boa/4856025704.html
2. I have a 2003 Regal Session v drive wakeboat that will be for sale this spring. Will be asking low $20k range. 22 foot boat with 6.2 liter engine, 4 tank ballast system, perfect pass, tandem trailer, and more.
Good luck

Price has a little play in it so it will fall in the upper end of your budget but your more than welcome to call with any questions about it. Only reason I am selling is to move up to either a 14+ Supra SC, 14+ VLX/LSV, Nautique 230, or Axis T23. I haven't test driven any yet, but once the weather warms up enough I am going to get busy narrowing it down.

My old boat (my brother owns it now) is/was for sale last fall, I can see if my brother is still looking to move it.
It was a 95' Super Sport Nautique (same hull as super air), ballast, tower, stereo, etc etc, GT-40 engine with like 650 hrs (rebuilt at 450 hrs), dual axle trailer, new interior vinyl. It could use a new tower, its the original FCT modified to fit the 95' front mounts (95' had cupholders up front to work around)
He was asking like $16.5k I believe.... little older than you were looking for, but $10k less than your max and its the same boat as the Super Air.... boat is in Central Wisconsin.
the wake -

Here's a Nauti Super Sport for $16k pretty close to you:
http://bham.craigslist.org/boa/4857222963.html
Looks clean. Not a v-drive but still capable of one helluva wake with some ballast. DDs are easier to work on so there's that. Might be worth a look. You could keep it for a season or two and if you wanted to upgrade probably sell it for what you paid for it.

I was looking at Craigslist last night - Knoxville area, there are boats out there.
Check out the 3 wake dealer website - located on I-40.
They all have traded boats this time of the year.
Better yet, call them. Who knows how updated they keep the web listings. I've seen listings on CL that are not on their web sites.
All three dealers are not that far apart in West Knoxville - just exits apart.
Malibu/Axis - Supra/Moomba - Mastercraft.
Great Wakes / Premier / American Boat Center.

My buddy is selling his Supra, just listed it yesterday. Right in your price range, and in TN. Kind of high hours (though mine has 2600 so his is just getting started), but he works at a boat dealer ship so boat was maintained VERY well.

What is the deal with Epics? I tried doing to little research but I could not find too much. As for the sunsetter does that have the same hull as the wakesetter?

The sunsetter up to 2000 was the exact same as the wakesetter hull that was run til 2003 and then the Vride hull run til 2008
the 2001 sunsetters may have the diamond hull so you have to be careful there. but this has a titan tower on it highly regarded as the best tower malibu put on boats. not as eye appealing as some but sturdy as all get out.

That's at least twice you have promoted that boat. At. Least admit that it's yours if you have an interest in selling it.

My apologies to fourohieght68 for the bad assumption and to the OP for the sidetrack. Both out of line.
Certainly a unique boat with a big motor and a lot of hard ballast for its time.

Qualify, means exactly what I posted.... I sometimes am amused with the "waxed every time we went out or fluid changes at 25 hours" & I store it next to my house, not in a heated garage. It has nics in the skins on the back & some cracks in the front. In a nutshell, it does not look like the day I pulled it off the floor, far from it in fact. Hell, I could nic pick the chit out of it. The rebound pole for the walk threw windshield is gone. Bungies for the racks are junk. The tramp top, the cover straps are done(see photo).... I could go on.... It's a 12ish year old boat.
Qualify, it's not "on the market", but the boss and I have been discussing it.

I spray mine down every time with some sort of sauce, whether it be babe's boat bright or quickie sauce, and I find myself sometimes thinking it really is not needed.
It gets a nice coat of Collinite about twice per season, wiped every time with boat bright, and about every 3rd time I use the quickie sauce.
And the water beads right off, with no grime line, and always looks pristine.
But I guarantee, I could do some sort of sauce about every 3rd time and get away with a wipe down each time and net the same results.
However my mind will not let me get away with that and sleep at night.

I go through a gallon+ of 303 a year, but yea...wipe down is important, no doubt if you want to care for your boat.

I've got my boat for sale at http://monroemi.craigslist.org/boa/4844318971.html which is a few hours North of Tennessee, but definitely worth the drive. It's the same hull as the Wakesetter, but lacks the wedge. I'm looking for $17,500 which I think is a bargain.

Apparently the Boss says the dingy isn't for sale. I'd say 22K. Assume it's worth 24K, but I'd consign and that would cost me $2,400.... But with a Powell houseboat trip planned for May, momma wants her boat.
