So as some of you may have read, I had a knee injury at the end of last year. I have been going to physical therapy for it. It hasn't been a good time, but there is one thing I have taken away from it that I'd like to share.
One of the exercises they have me on is on a half round balance roller. This is basically like a foam half cylinder about 3' long and 6" diameter (3" tall since it's cut in half)
This really works your heel/toe balance. When I first got on it, I immediately got the muscle memory of surfing. It was working the same musles.
One of these can be used like this to not only keep your muscles tone and work your balance in the off season, but it can also be used to practice riding switch and stengthen those muslces up.
As I said these are fairly cheap, I am going to buy one direct from my physical therapist because my HSA actually covers it, so basically free. Otherwise they can be found on amazon and the like for a decent price.
Here is the link to one for example, they can be found cheaper, but here's just one I found with a good picture for reference.
