I hope he does well too... I''ve never really liked the guy until now.... don't get me wrong, I think he is a great QB but just never liked him. I feel bad for him now though. I totally understand why Indy let him go, I would have too, but just sort of a ****ty situation for all. First time being the highest paid position was a bad thing I guess.
I would like to see him in Miami but think the Cards might make the most sense. I could also see him saying screw the money and going to a stacked team for minimal pay to just get another ring or two.... it'll be an interesting few weeks.

Won't be the Cowboys. No way he goes to a team in the same division as his brother.

That was a standup press conference, can't help but respect the guy, even not being a die hard Colt fan, you have to appreciate the way he treats his fans.

If I am Payton I go to AZ or San Fran
AZ - I get to play in a dome 8 at least times a year and the NFC is weak
SF - They're an amazing team without a QB.... with Payton at the helm and Jim H. as the coach this team would be insane. I would give Randy Moss a call too and do a package deal

Manning wants to play for a winner; that eliminates Dallas and Seattle.

sounds like he has ruled out the NFC East. bummer.
I dont see him staying within his division either. I believe he has too much respect for Irsay and the organization, to have to face them twice a year. I would not be surprised to see him in San Francisco, as they have the team with the best chance of winning a SB right now, with him as their "healthy" QB. I dont know what his numbers are outdoors, but his overall numbers are fantastic, so I cant imagine they are less than good.

He is coming to Miami. Heck he's already here. Winter home in Miami.
#18 is going to be a Fish!
The other place that makes sense is Denver or San Fran. With that line and defense the Niners could have a ring this year.
Edit: Whoops, didnt they just re-sign Smith today?

Not yet. There is an offer on the table apparently, but he has yet to sign.

Wonder what Tebow's love child, Eric (mjfan), thinks about Denver courting Manning?

And certainly Tennessee is among the LOSERS he should stay away from!

well I dont see the niners getting Manning now. after adding the cancer that is Randy Moss, I just dont see Peyton going there. is it really likely he ends up in Denver or AZ? my new guess is, it is going to be a team that was probably never even mentioned. I guess we should know in the next day or so.

Wow, can't believe the Niners added Moss after such an amazing season. That's such a huge risk to bring someone like that into your locker room!
Rams have cleaned house big time and cleared about $30 million in cap room. They are going to go nuts with free agents and draft picks. Very exciting!

Miami or Arizona probably. But Niners or Texans would equal a Super Bowl.

I totally agree. If I'm Petyon I'm all for the 9ers if they'll have me - awesome O-line, good run game, Davis is amazing, just added a deep threat in Moss, and a defense that would have your back.
... I think Miami is out now that Marshall is gone, unless there is some master plan in the works for Wayne and TO or something

I think everyone is underestimating mannings willingness to play with guys whoe are not considered good "clubhouse" guys. I dont see him throwing the ball to a Moss, TO, or a Brandon Marshall. I believe Wayne re-signed with Indy last night, so I dont think they are a package deal anymore.

I don't think it will be a make/break situation but I think it certainly helps to know you've got a stud out there for you.
I keep thinking the following:
I'm Peyton Manning what do I want for my last few years:
Rings, rings rings
I don't want to get hit very often
I want a strong run game
I want a defense that can keep the team close if the offense isn't firing at 100%
Money isn't a uhge factor.....
With this logic (may be nothing close to Peyton's actual logic) but the team that best fits my "want" list would be the 9ers.

As a 9ers fan that is constantly following 9ers blogs and discussion boards I would be absolutely shocked if Manning landed in SF. They've already said they are negotiating with Smith and have a contract offer on the table. They've also publicly stated that they haven't even discussed bringing in Manning. While that could all be smoke and mirrors, it just seems highly unlikely to happen. Would SF make sense for Manning? Absolutely. Whether the 9ers are interested is another story altogether. I'm expecting Alex to be re-signed today or tomorrow

I heard today on a local TV station that the Colt's former GM and friend of Peyton said it is between Denver and Tennessee.

Well, for those of you who follow baseball know that everyone in the media said prince fielder would not play for any of his dads former clubs. Everyone talked about him landing with the rangers, dodgers, giants, etc. yet he signs with detroit! I think we know as much as the media.

Denver has plenty of cap room for Manning and Dallas Clark both. Hmmm... Is John Elway a gambler or not?

Dont be surprised if manning ends up in Tennessee. Owner Bud Adams has said a piece of the franchise could be in mannings future if that's what it takes to bring him here. If I had to bet I'd put my money on Tennessee. Played college ball at UT and decided to stay and play as a Vol instead of entering the draft his senior year. Showed up to Titans facility sporting a nice orange shirt as well! Haha

I was dejected that he wasn't interested in us initially... that is until it was discovered that Matt Flynn has more than just a passing interest in Seattle and will be visiting this week.

I sure hope Seattle gets Matt Flynn!! He had a really good game (singular) last year! I think he also has another game he started in his career. I like that kind of track record for a team we play twice a year!

I figure Pete Carrol will go after Matt Leinart as the team's franchise qb. The guy hasn't done much since leaving USC, but even Ryan Leaf would be a step up for the Hawks considering their current qb situation.

M & M Train! Manning to Moss or 18 to 81.Sounds like a Super Bowl winning combo.Do you think the 49ers could have scored 1 more touchdown against the Giants with Peyton as QB. I think it would have been a blow out 9ers by at least 3 td's!

Not wht I wanted to here!! I live here n FL and despise him and have warned all my FB friends to not blow up my timeline with tebow crap. Sure it would help jacksonville out who has a crappy team, lack of fan support and mybe draw more interest but then I'll have to see/hear more hoopla.
