Will be great to see you again Sue. Pray for rain, its been light this year.
Our new 2012 Tigé Z3 that will tow the event is going to be here on Monday! It will be displayed at the Sacramento Boat show at the CMS booth. We are going to be there, Dennis, CMS crew including wakemitch, gotta come check it out. We may not be there on Thursday, but def the rest of the show.
We have some killer stuff planned for this boat, especially for how we will be towing and capturing the event, will save that for later, but check it out. I am normally not a big fan of red, but RJ loves red and he begged. Danny from Tige put together this scheme for us and its killer.
Check out the spray knocker on this side. Thats the thing that keeps the water off your back while surfing. I love saying my boat will have a great set of knockers.
We are waiting for our special Lowrider mexican steering wheel made from chain links. You know, the ones small enough you can steer while in handcuffs. ;-)
Sweet looking rig Robert. Hope to surf behind it at the Polar Bear. Angie and I cannot make it to the West Coast Open this year We have to attend my son's law school graduation ceremony on that weekend. Damn kids get in the way of everything! Looking forward to seeing all of you at some other events. Good luck.
My schedule hasn't changed a bit Robert ...... fun>work= Just tell me when? I'll get up to the boat show either Friday or Saturday if Toni wants to go!! So be seeing you soon!!
Looking forward to boat, and board demo's ! And seeing everyone, again that I saw last year, and meet some new friends! Hey H, are you towing your boat down? Hey Mitch, Last year I had to be spectator, ACL .....this year I'm riding!
Trevor, Don B. and Roger, and Harold^^^ he’s not a member but he’s def family! (all us old farts!) you should go! it was a blast last year! even if I didn’t get to ride
OK, so I am not a big college football fan, but I def see how it looks like a buckeye boat. Kool, no problem, but do we have to call it scarlet? How about something a bit more butch? ;-)
Maybe "Open Wound Red" or "Surface of the Sun Red" or RJ's contribution: "Your face after I slap it, red." lol
Thanks much, and apparently there will be a great resale opportunity in ohio. A little nuts with the boat show this week, the boat is going right to the show flow. Tough to know its there and ready to go, and I have to leave it alone until after the show.
lol, I didn't mean their will be nuts at the boat show, I meant its been nuts with the boat show and all else going on this week. That being said, I am sure there will be plenty of nuts, probably not too many buckeyes in Sacramento, though.
Be careful Robert, that sounds like an official invite.....You may not be able to get rid of us. Especially in the heat of the Arizona summer
Mike you and Angie also have an "official invite" to come surf in Idaho anytime! You can ride behind my Sanger and Jeff's Centurion when the AZ sun gets too hot.
For now I am really looking forward to some of that warm AZ Spring Break weather!
So RJ and Maddie and I had a fun day heading out to GoldKey Boathouse in Eldorado Hills. We filmed a podcast which will hopefully be out tomorrow with some very cool info, but I digress...
The 2012 Tige Z3 that will be pulling the West Coast Wakesurf Open and providing our crew with tons of fun this summer was delivered. We got to go down and unwrap it. This is my second unwrapping and man is it fun. Picking a boat on a dealer floor is great, but getting to unwrap one direct from the factory just feels EXACTLY like Christmas. All you buckeye fans are definitely going to love the looks of this boat. The colors were picked for RJ and he loves it. The silver metal flake is stunning. The new clamp racks are going to be fun, no more bungies. Anyway, I took the good camera and got lots of good shots. Very hard for me to pair them down, but I will keep it to as few as I can. Its a sick looking boat, we are very excited. This boat will be at the Sacramento Boat Show in the California Marine Sports / GoldKey Boathouse booth.
@ragboy, if you're going to have the mexican lowrider chain steering wheel, cuál santo estará pagado al transom??? Si va a ser un bote mejicano, make sure it is truly un bote mejicano!!!
@ragboy-Funny because I almost suggested red dingleberries from the windshield. Disfruta el bote. I think my wife and I are going to be in San José, CA in July. How far are you guys from there? We'd love to meet you and your crew.
@timmy The end of the taps plate hooks down, that is new.
Man, I am getting stoked about the event. I have been working the phone and email over the last year, especially the last few months and trying to get commitments from various boat manufacturers to get the best darn wakesurf boats all in one place for people to demo. Its very important to us and its taken a lot of time to be able to do this and I want it to go well. Of course, it is absolutely obvious that my favorite wakesurf boats are made by Tige and I have many reasons for that, but I am totally open to the fact that everyone has their own favorites, and whichever wakesurf boat gets you out surfing with your friends and family perfect for me.
That said, I am trying to work out logistics, and I would like to solicit some opinions. First, here is the list of boats that are committed, however subject to boat availability. What I mean by that is, every one of these boats are planning to be present, but if at the time of the event that boat can't be secured, it could end up not being there. The economy had all these boat manuf. scale down and now things are picking up and I think everyone is spinning up a bit cautiously, which is understandable.
Committed but Subject to Avail.
1. 2012 Tige Z3 (2 of them, ours and then a backup)
2. 2012 Tige RZ2
3. 2012 Centurion 244 or 233
4. 2012 MB Sports Tomcat 24 if possible, if not Tomcat or B52 23
5. 2012 Sanger 237 or 239 Surf Edition
6. 2012 Moomba Mojo 2.5
The following boats are more maybes:
1. 2012 Supreme V226 (Travis from Hillside will be bringing his most likely)
2. 2012 Mastercraft X30
and don't forget the 2007 Wake9/Wakemakers/Tige 24Ve.
Is that a list or what? Here is the issue, I don't want to take away from the main contest and such, and so the thought is that the main boat/board demo day will be on Thursday the 17th. Clinics and private lessons are going to be on Friday with Chase Hazen, Tommy Czeschin, Doum Legace and Sean Cummings. So the boats will also be available to demo on Friday. It is going to be too difficult, and too much to have them there all weekend officially, but we wouldn't stop someone from having any boat out on the water.
The question is this, those of you that want to come out for the demos, is Thursday all day, and then sharing with clinics on Friday going to work for most of you? We are going to take signups for the boat and board demos to keep it organized a bit, so that we know what to expect and spread out demand and such properly. Let me know what you guys think, I know some have told me they are flying out just for this part of the event.
I want to also say thanks to the primary sponsor, Tige Boats. This is possible because they give us the freedom to put this together, and are so confident in the quality of their product and the wake. They deserve props for that.
Anyway, let me know what you think, it has the potential to be legendary. ;-)
Robert great job on setting things up.We had planed on driving down Thursday and arriving late in the day.We will try to make it down earlier but not sure
Thursday sounds good Robert! I am flying in Wed. night. Thanks for all the work you put into this. I can't wait to ride behind some of the boats from your list.
Sue
ok, I think I am going to setup a registration for the demos, so that we can anticipate demand. Glad to know that it seems people will be able to work around and make this work on Thursday and Friday. Going to be fun, and def something I have been working towards for a long time. I am at the boat show now, and it doesn't make sense to me to buy a boat this way unless you have all your research done and you know what you want and you are looking for the "show special". The ability to demo great wakesurf boats on the water and weighted properly should be a much better experience.
Robert, unfortunately that is not the best approach from a sales point of view! LOL! It's much easier to say your boat is better than the competition than actually let the customer drive it and your competitors back-to-back! I know my local Tige dealer has had people interested in boats and they weren't sure which one to get so my dealer invited the competition to the lake...only one hesitantly accepted and then they lost so I'm sure that is probably the last time they will do that! From a customer perspective, BEST IDEA EVER!!!!
So we have been working on the wakesurfopen.com site for a bit and we are doing some informative videos about what is happening, and we are all together at the boat show so killing a few birds with one stone. Mitch is funny, if you know him in the real world, you know what I mean. He can get so serious some times and RJ and I are always giving him a hard time. When the camera turns on he gets VERY serious and then if he flubs or stutters, he gets very hard on himself. Pretty funny. So anyway, a bit of an outtake today that when I got home and watched I laughed pretty hard. I laughed more at us making fun of him then I did his original outake.
Good times, makes me look forward to the event coming up, cuz this is pretty much how it is. Luv ya Mitch, can't wait to do those board reviews with you.
