Drovefrom Chicago to Detroit and back today to purchase my first inboard after having I/os. Picked up a 2005 supra 21v. Only 2 things I can't figure out is how the swivel board racks are supposed to work, I read some things about them not working good. Also was wondering if it was possible to buy just the bungees from racks, I can't seem to find them

Be careful when backing up - inboards DO NOT turn like I/O's at low speeds. You will find it won't turn well in reverse. At slow speeds forward, there is a bit of a delayed reaction when turning compared to an I/O, but you don't have to compensate when turning back to straight. At speed you'll like how it turns much better. Just a little suprise I found out when driving my first inboard, as I was very used to I/O's.

Mike, the '05 Roswell swivel racks have 3 push buttons on the swivel rack, they're to release the rack in 3 different positions. Sometimes those buttons would jam, they were replaced in '06 with a single large black plastic release that has a lot of play in the rack, my '05 Supra has this version on it. Roswell sells replacements for both versions, they're reasonably priced as well just don't remember how much they were. They replace them with a pin system, kind of a simple design that works. I'm sure you would be able to buy the fingers from them, don't know about just the bungee's though, I know most racks you have to have a special tool to install the bungees.

I have an 07 21v. I had to switch out the swivels to the pin style also. I think it was $125 for both. As far as the straps, a guy on the supra forums ordered them from Roswell for something like $25. Roswell is good to work with and have great customer service.

Awesome Boat!!! I haven't had any issues with my swivel board racks, but I have a 2007 with the big button. I think you can get the bungee's through Roswell.

Nice boat! Just put some WD-40 on top of the buttons and they'll loosen right up. Thought about getting the other swivel but after I did this, they work great. What did the bungees run you?

If it does not already have a second fuel pump go on and install this kit over the winter. http://www.skidim.com/prodinfo.asp?number=49-5137 My 05 21v was bad for vapor locking. Don't freak out like we did the first few times and get towed in only to find out by the time you get back to the dock the fuel cools down enough and the motor starts making you look like an idiot. It is a simple install and makes a good winter project. If you decide to go without, a wet towel or ice water on the fuel pump inside the motor box will cool it down enough to get it back started. Nice looking boat.
