Last year was 7 PDX amps, 4 Wetsounds Pro485's, 5 optima yellow tops, two JL W6's and 1 W7, and 6x JL 650's.. I ended up blowing the W7, and I hated the PDX setup (extremely efficient, but definitely lacked balls as the voltage dropped)... So i ripped it all out and sent it down to texas stereo for a make over.. With only 2 weeks until memorial day
New setup equipment list:
If one of everything is good, two must be better
(2) WetSounds Syn 1
(2) WetSounds Syn 4
(2) WetSounds Pro 485
(2) WetSounds XXX subs in 2 cf ported enclosures
Alpine IDA-X100M
(6) JL 650's
Battery:
(2) Optima Yellow
(2) Trojan J185-AC's (12v, 128lb's each, 225 amp hours each )
Complete battery Isolation system
ProMariner 12Plus (until it burns up trying to charge those trojans )
1500 Watt / 3000w peak power inverter
Chauvet 1300w 20,000 CFM fog machine
25' of LED strips, rings on all speakers, 12 LED underwaters, possibly some rub rail LED's.
Some progress pics... More to come as progress continues.

I would swap one of those Syn 4's out for 2 Syn 2's. I'm running 2 Syn 2's to my 485's, they like the power. Loads of headroom. I am also running a Syn 4 to my inboats. I am just a tad lighter on subs with a single Boston SPG555 in a 2 cubic foot ported box. It's good enough for me.

I considered two syn 2's for the tower, but there just isnt a need anymore.. With the Syn4 bridged, the 485's go plenty hard, and with our noise ordinance laws in effect, it just isnt worth the hassle.

hard to beat 450 a/h out of just two batteries, but they are a pain in the ass to work with being 128lbs... Should have plenty of juice to go hard for a full day.

One thing that I did over the winter was to upgrade the grills on my Pro 80's. I too have a white speaker enclosure and went with the black/stainless grill...it looks awesome!
Just a thought

I swear you and Brian (factorykitted) must have tree's that grow money in your yards...lol
I'm sure you'll be happier with the WS XXX subs, and I'd be willing to bet the 2 XXX's will be louder on the same power than (2) W6's and (1) W7. The XXX has a 90db senstivity rating vs JL W's mid 80's. Not saying JL is bad, but I really don't understand why people insist on installing one of the most inefficient subs on the market, especially when power is an issue on a boat....
Are you going to be at Devils Cove for Memorial day? I've been working every day after work in my garage trying to get my stereo done. I ordered a 15" Sundown Z v.2 sub...should be here tomorrow...can't wait to hear it

with the three boats you have listed WS420'd - everyone else might as well just stay home or keep the faceplate to their head unit in the truck.

What kind of alternator are you running to power all those batteries? It can't be the stock, or even the 100 amp upgrade?

Scott, he's just charging two yellow tops off the Alternator and the two large ones with the Pro Mariner. At least thats how I read it and how I do it which has worked brilliantly for me.
Sounds like a nice little list of equipment there UN. Looking forward to seeing the finished product pics.

its gonna be loud.... move those 485's inward, they look so much better with no downward angle. Cant wait to see the boxes! I have one xxx 12 ported under the helm in my 05' sante and it hammers balls! love the battery setup! fig machine is a bit much for me but strangely i love it! I do agree on the 485's really loving the power i have two arc 300.2's on mine and they are sick nasty!

keep up the good work guys. i am in austin, hit HH cove about once a year, and DC's about once a year (always on somebody else's BIG boat). i was actually considering tossing out the idea to FK and UNV that we could do our own version of bump...but no locations seem promising.
As for me, I have no WS420, so daisy chaining is a little more difficult. but what i do have in my Nautique 230 is:
stock head unit
3 x Zap DC 1100.1 (tower amps)
1 x Zap DC 1000.4 (hull amp)
1 x Zap C2K 9.0 (sub amp)
2 x Zap SLB-Us (control sub and tower levels)
1 x AC Matrix
2 x NVS Prodigy
2 x NVS Modus
2 x Ascendant Audio Havoc 15".
10 x group 27 AGM batteries (dedicated)
1 x Xantrex charger
A whole lot of 0 gauage and 4 gauge cable.
here are a couple of crappy pics of the amps during build and the tower (lots of thanks to Ryan at CTronics and Duane at NVS)....
now back to your regularly scheduled programming....

i saw Texas Stereo at the Houston Boat Show a while back. i thought they had some good stuff up there. i got the guy's card and came home and looked up their website. after seeing that piece of junk, i can't help but wonder why they don't fix it. it definitely kept me from taking my boat there.

Tro - Texas Stereo is a small operation, Tom the owner and a few of his shop guys. Not a store front shop with fancy signage etc etc. The reason he has a crappy site at the moment is b/c he's busy putting stereos in boats rather than surfin the web like you and me....IMO a good thing. Websites dont mean $hit to me, its the finished product that counts.

Brian: We got some homies moving out your way. Our CWB rep just relocated back to Austin and the Gary from DRA is headed that way also. Could be time to make a Spring Ride happen "Texas Style." Let's talk sometime. All we need is the right venue and we can do this.
Have fun guys.... Looks like it's going to be a great summer.

i have to say i'm extremely impressed with my towerbimini over the tower top... it was super easy to install, and even easier to use... fold up and storage takes about 1 minute... it fits nice and snug, the fabric is perfectly cut... expensive ($750) but worth it...

I don't know if you already know this, but if you double up the leads on the prosport and put it to 1 battery you'll get 20amp charge vs splitting it amongst 2 batteries.

I had made a comment about similar LEDs not putting out much light. just went back a read the thread and noticed I left out a disclaimer.
Output of the from LEDs will look different depending on clarity of the water you're in. I run a lot in the Delta and that water is very murky, it would take 4 Shadow Caster SC-10 to make the Dirty-D light up like that.
Boat looks nice with the lights! Nice job of the amp racks too!
