At CWC's Ultimate Wake Challenge 2011, Rusty had to stand on the boat's swim platform to get back into these bindings. Nothing against Rusty cuz I think I would struggle too if I had to put my snowboard on in the water, even if it did float like a wakeboard. He probably needed to see what he was doing since that tab thingy has to be inserted before you can ratchet it tight. And there are 4 tabs. I was an early skeptic of the System bindings because I thought they wouldn't release during a hard fall, but at least you CAN come out of these bindings.
But look at it this way...
When was the last time you saw a professional wakeboarder have to get on the swim platform to get into his/her bindings?
That's more potential down time on tour this year. I hope Hyperlite has more than a gimmick for all the time that they could be wasting. What about people who don't have swim platforms on their IO, Outboard, or PWC? Maybe they should be looking to get a traditional binding instead.
