6pm.com is usually pretty good. I got a pair of fannings on there about a year ago for $10.00.

Don't buy Reefs with the bottle opener, flask, or any special feature. The Vision's are super nice (my new pair for this year). Slaps are good, not sure if they still have them around, and JD used to have a pro model. The special feature ones will break, it's only a matter of when. The bottle opener offers great support, but sooner or later it cracks, the flask portion will blow out, and you'll be creaking and cracking with every step. Spend money on good Reefs, and they'll last you multiple seasons.

btw, being an odd size (7) will give you a greater possibility of finding some on clearance and sales. I'd check local shops for those, and online should have some

Im really leaning towards those visions, especially since i havent seen anyone with them. Are they a lot lighter than the fanning?
Its either the black pinstripe fanning or the vision.
I have a pair of fanning right now, that are just want too big. kinda awkward to wear.

I have had three pairs of fannings over the last five years or so. none of the bottle openers ever broke, and I think I am one of the few people who ever used it with any regularity. I always just wear through my sandals. I usually wear them 5-6 days a week.
there were several fannings on 6pm.com in size 7. I believe they were all around $16 or so. cant go wrong at that price.

my bad. they are closer to $30. another style was in the $15 range. those other sites seem to be selling what they do in the surf shops around here.

I prefer an open toe soccer style sandal to the flip flop. The best ever was the Oakley soccer style with a high arch, with molded foot bed about 9 years ago. Nothing since then is even close. The Nike MJ23 is what I have now.

$60 for flip flops? They're like 30% of a full shoe. I just imagine stepping in dog sh*t with those and then opening a bottle.

Its more of a "cool factpr" than anything. the fannings I have Ive only used a few times to open bottles. its cool but rarely used, the one time you do need to use it tho, you will love it haha.

Agreed. I used to wear nothing but Reef but these are by far much more superior. I have a pair of these and they are super comfortable. http://www.olukai.com/Product_MensMa...0110-2828.aspx I probably wont ever buy Reef again as they just arent as comfortable once I started wearing Olukais.

These are my personal fav. I agree that reef's are WAAAAAY Over-rated. P.S. that's surf traction for the footbed...similar to the old bad ass bindings.

J-Rod knows whats up, the Sanuk shoes are where its at. By far the most comfortable footwear ever.

If I do go flip flops, its always gotta be Rainbow. They make incredible comfortable flips.

Im just not a fan of the sanuk deal, as comfortable as they are, I just cant get over how they look! I dont think I could pull them off.
Those cobians are pretty sick with the traction on them.

Ok I got my visions in the mail and have warn them the past couple of days. They are so freakin comfortable its not even funny. Way more comfy that the fannins, and they run a bit smaller i think. Probably could have gone with an 8, my size 8 fannings are a little fit. I went with a 7 with the visions and they are almost to small, so they are perfect
Would definitely recommend them, plus Ive never seen anyone with them, which is a major plus for me.
