I have been getting some e-mails asking to see what we had at the show in Chicago last week. So, here they are! I have MUCH better pictures on my camera and I will get them up as soon as possible, but here is a tease! The Axis has a full wrap from Road Rage Designs in Spring Grove IL and is flawless! I will get some better pics of the VLX this one does it no justice. The windshield is tinted white with the new "WS" logo printed on it.

The wheels were custom painted by boatmate, all metal malibu emblems were powdercoated red, the windshield was wrapped in the stuff you see on the sides of city buses and trains, that you can see out of, but not in. Better pictures coming shortly, for now, those are some really low res stuff... from a cell phone.

Ben, I must agree. I mean, don't get me wrong, those are awesome boat show boats but who actually buys these things? Sick looking boats but just not for me. The dealer does get an A+ for creativity and booth attractiveness though.

Guys, these are customs boats for the boat show! They're supposed to be over the top. Sure they'll end up on the lot after the fact, and some tool will pay top dollar for them b/c he needs the attention, but do you really think they all look like that?

yup i fully understand that. but isnt the point to entice the masses? When i go to the boat show i like seeing ballin boat just as much as the next guy. I just don't see these two particular boats as ballin at all.

I think that VLX will look amazing on the water. The trailer makes it look more over the top than it actually is. The wheels and the red logo's are the only things that make it look crazy. I think if you put regular chrome 17" wheels on the trailer, mad the logos chrome and stripped the horrible wakesetter decal off it that boat would look like pure sex. The wakesetter graphic would even look better if it didn't have that dumb WS symbol in the middle and the 2 words were closer together. Still it would look better with no wakesetter decal.

Wow, the wrap on that Axis is FUGLY! I like the windshield tint idea. Would be interesting to see some graphics carried up into the windshield.

I saw the VLX and it was definetly sweet. I'm not a huge fan of the Axis styling in general, but the VLX was way cool. Good job Kevin and gang on putting that together.

I'm with Brett. That VLX is VERY slick looking. Replace some of that Red with chrome (especially the trailer wheels) and that is one nice combo.

I like the whole thing except as Brett mentioned the Wakesetter graphic. Pull that off and that boat would look even better. I like the trailer too.

I'm not a big fan of the Axis wrap but to advertise for a team rider I can see it and it definitely grabs your attention. Our boat show had the Axis with special edition version in Cincinnati and I liked it as it had much more matte black with grey and white so it wasn't so over the top. I agree about the removing the wakesetter graphic. White tinted window was cool to see. Not on my boat though.

I own an 03 VLX, and am definetly a Malibu guy. I wish I had the money for a new boat. My next boat will be a 20' boat and its hard to make the decision between a VTX and X2. The 20v from Supra also seems like a nice boat for the money. The above is my disclaimer for what I am about to say. Wrap or no wrap, I just can't get into the axis. To each their own but not for me. I understand Malibu trying to build a price point boat and all, but the thing just looks cheap to me. I dont like the way the boat flows. Just my .02, and I tried to hold it in, but I couldn't anymore. I saw the VLX at the show and while it was a little over the top, they are really nicely put together.

Oh yeah. The new tower from Malibu. Unbelievable!! So easy to put up and down it's rediculous. Whomever designed that tower deserves a raise.

It sucks for a malibu when the best thing about it is the tower.... uggg. Its cool as a boat show boat but owning it would be like driving an ice cream truck to work everyday, but your profession isn't ice cream trunk driver.

Has anybody heard if you can get the new tower in different colors. On a white boat like that or Dave's it would be awesome if you could get the part that is black, in white.

The boat show was the first time that I have seen Axis. I can't get into it either. It looks like a price point boat, moreso than a Moomba. This is just my personal opinion. I don't like the windshield, the tower, or the lines of the boat. It just doesn't flow well IMO. I maybe alone here, but I don't like the new Malibu tower either. I just don't like the mixing of the chrome bars and the black. I think that it would look better if it were all one color is all. I don't care for the new windshields either. Just personal opinion, but I prefer frames around the windshield, it looks cheap the other way.

I sat in that boat for awhile and I understand its a boat show boat but there was way too much going on. However that being said, it was definitely a sweet boat, just more then I need. As for the Axis, does not interest me at all. The layout of the boat seams really weird.
